So what's everyone's pedictions?
Here's mine:
1st Fernando Alonso
2nd Jarno Trulli OR Micheal Schumacher
3rd Kimi Raikonen(sp?) OR Ralf Schumancher

Also, I think that if he has a good car under him this weekend, David Coulthard could be the dark horse of the race.

Great thing about this year is that I have no idea who is going to win! :)
Driver wise I'd have to say the likes of Trulli and Montoya should be strong, just based on past results. Car wise I think the renault should have the edge on the tight twisty roads, Tyres :dunno: Bridgestone have to strike back some time, but I'm hoping the weather is hot and favours the Michelins.

:1: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My vote is gonna go to Kimi. He's in the zone right now. If the car is "good" (<--insert Kimi acsent ) then I have little doubt he'll pull it off.

That Ferrari looks ugly in Q1....

crayzayjay
05-21-2005, 06:37 AM
Ralf writes off his Toyota.

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 06:52 AM
I wonder how derbris or oil on the track from Ralf's accident will affect the final three?

crayzayjay
05-21-2005, 06:58 AM
Trulli seemed cautious. Monster lap by Alonso. Only Kimi left to go ....

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 06:58 AM
Well it didn't seem to worry Alonso too much, very quick. Now what can Kimi do?

crayzayjay
05-21-2005, 06:59 AM
What a lap by Kimi! Half a second quicker than Alonso.

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 06:59 AM
He did alright. :D

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 07:01 AM
What a pain that we now have to wait until tomorrow to see how the final grid will pan out.

crayzayjay
05-21-2005, 07:01 AM
Yep, but at least this aggregate qualifying rubbish is being changed :)

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 07:06 AM
Yeah, funny how Max has finally realised what everybody instantly said as soon as the current system was proposed. :screwy:
Bet they won't change it enough though, I'm well sick of this "race fuel" business.

crayzayjay
05-21-2005, 07:08 AM
Tell me about it. They should go back to the original 12 lap system :2cents:

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 07:11 AM
Amen to that - with one session on Friday and another on Saturday. Wouldn't that be an innovation! Welcome to 1995!

RallyRaider

Interesting to note that at the arse end of the grid Minardi have moved ahead of Jordan.

RallyRaider
05-21-2005, 07:33 AM
Here is an interesting but probably pointless (and no doubt wildy inconclusive) piece of number crunching. This year the fastest Ferrari is 2.43 seconds quicker that the fastest Minardi. Last year the difference was 5.55 seconds. Either Minardi have made startling progress in the last 12 months or Ferrari have issues with more than just tyres... :dunno:

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 06:52 AM
Must be getting close to a start now. McLarens will be first and last on the grid. Kimi only just holding Alonso out for pole and Montoya relegated to the back after being panalised by the stewards for causing an avoidable accident during practice...

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 06:54 AM
T minus 5 minutes.

Ralf and Juan Pablo on the last row of the grid. Expect fireworks

RallyRaider

Webber goes backwards at the start yet again.

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:05 AM
Montoya is behind Barrichello already. Could be fun...

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:08 AM
Kimi's pulling away.

Supra-Devil
05-22-2005, 07:10 AM
imagine a someone modifies his civic to 3000hp and spoilers everywhere tottally aero dynamic and no lines in the tyres with no restriction n just intrudes in the track and overtakes everyone before somone could stop him that be fun........just a thought dont flame

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:12 AM
dont flame
tempting............

RallyRaider

Alonso is virtually matching Kimi. Now lets settle in and wait for the first stops.

Supra-Devil. WTF has that to do with this race or F1? Keep it on topic please.

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:16 AM
Kimi just turned it up a notch, .5 of a second faster than Alonso on lap 10 alone.

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:18 AM
Ralf is slowly clawing his way through the ass end.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:19 AM
Now taking bets on Supra Devil's age:

11 - 6/1
12 - 4/1
13 - 3/1
14 - 4/1
15 - 10-1
16+ 1000/1

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:20 AM
Karthikeyan is in and out of the pits, obviously some problem with his Jordan/Midland.

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:21 AM
Interesting to look at the split times. Alonso is slightly faster in the first sector but Kimi is killing him in the last two.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:22 AM
Where do you get all this info, Phil?

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:24 AM
A slow lap from Kimi, drops a second to Alonso in lap 15 but recovers the next.

EDIT: Loss of time must have been whilst lapping a Jordan.

Webber is crowding Trulli, Montoya all over Bariichello and Ralf pressuring Liuzzi. But none of them can make anything stick - this is Monaco!

Kimi extends his leaad to almost 5 seconds...

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:30 AM
Karthikeyan is back in AGAIN. He can't be far off calling it a day.

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:32 AM
And he is out.

Manardi after 3 pits is out of the race

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:35 AM
Albers is out as well? MS hit the back of Courthald lightly

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:36 AM
MS loses his front wing on the back of DC's car as a Minardi blocks the circuit. Everyone's in the pits!

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:36 AM
Great pits oppurtunity!

RallyRaider

Manardi after 3 pits is out of the race
Err jordan. The Minard is the one in the barrier. Has Michael collected some damage?

Supra-Devil
05-22-2005, 07:36 AM
well its not 16+

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:36 AM
DC is out :(

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:36 AM
Front wing, now replaced.

Courthald is out after Schumis shunt.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:40 AM
Broken rear diffuser caused DC to retire.

Kimi now leads from Trulli, who was a good couple of seconds a lap slower before the SC came out.

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:42 AM
Kimi hasn't pitted? This could seriously screw things up. :( He may be one stopping, which effectively gives the two stoppers a free stop.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:42 AM
And we're off again

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:46 AM
Freisacher loses it coming out of the tunnel

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:47 AM
Friesacher has lost control and clipped the barrier now.

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:48 AM
Kimi has to be one stopping, traffic after his stop could decide the race...

Another SC?

Supra-Devil
05-22-2005, 07:48 AM
Oz crashes

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:49 AM
No SC. Schumi putting in some good laps.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:51 AM
Kimi sets the quickest lap of the race with a 1.16.2, then breaks it with a 1.16 flat

RallyRaider
05-22-2005, 07:51 AM
Kimi is really hammering now, another handfull of laps at this pace should be enough to get out in front of Alonso.

crayzayjay
05-22-2005, 07:53 AM
The two renaults are believed to be one stopping :dunno:

Jimster
05-22-2005, 07:54 AM
Villenueve pits
