Radiator Cooling Fan runs when engines is turned off and key removed.

Radiator Cooling Fan turns off when key is in "ON" and when car is running.

Autozone guy tells me its the "relay".

I bought the part. Says "MR76" on the box.

Nothing underneath the steering column or inside the engine compartment resembles the part. (a grey 1 inch block with 5 metal tabs coming out of one side) when facing the tabs they look like: I = I
I

I am definitely missing something.

Anyone know the location of this relay?

I appreciate your help.

I think what you are missing is the correct part. The low and high speeds on the radiator cooling fan are inside the constant control relay module. It is located under the air intake tube in the engine compartment and has 24 connectors. It not only controls the low and high speeds of the radiator fan, but also controls engine functions, fuel injectors and the fuel pump. You mentioned that the part you have has 5 connectors. . The fan relay for the A/C and heater has that number of connectors. It is located above the fuse box in the passenger compartment. I may be wrong, but I think they gave you the relay for the blower fan instead of the cooling fan. For what it's worth. Dave

I am interested to hear what became of this...
To my knowledge there are in fact two 5 prong relays as described, one high speed and one low speed, located in the driver side fender area under the air filter.
What is this 24 pin connector that is mentioned here? Is it the EDIS module?

you prolly already fixed this problem, but under the hood in yer fuse box theres a black square thing in ther with all yer coloured fuses, this is yer cooling fan relay. when your fan is goin, pull this out and it will shut off, the realy is stuck open, just go to the scrap yard and get onother one for free. when you pull it out it should be black on top and white on bottom with 2 prongs on it.
garuntee this was yer problem

I have the two relays under my air filter. This may have changed when they went to the new Esscorts in '97.
