In a reacent post i asked about bleeding brakes and i think i misunderstood where the bleeder valve was thats why i can't get it to bleed right.

I thought that the bleeder valve was a 12mm bolt on the back of the caliper. but now i think that the bleeder valve is really a smaller bolt on top of the caliper which has a rubber cap over it. Am i right or did what I heard at first right about the 12mm bolt being the bleeder valve.

also people keep saying that i should keep bleeding the brakes until i see no bubbles but how am i supposed to see if their are anymore bubbles in the lines if my lines are black and not transperent?

The bleeder valve is smaller then 10mm and its on the back of the caliper. its pretty small. Its def not 12 mm.

yeah, the bleeder looks like a nipple. a small, prolly 8 mm head towards the bottom of the bolt, then a knub on the top with a hole in it. you see the bubbles in the clear tube that you attach to the end of the bolt.

i made that same mistake as you when it had been a while since i did the brakes. i was so embarassed, cuz i usually know my way around easy stuff like that. no biggie though.

Also i heard that i should be prepared to use alot of brake fluid.
About how much fluid will i probably need?

Also on average how much pedal pushes should i do for each caliper?

Get a Chilton's or Hayne's or FSM.

buy the bigger bottle of fluid and prepare to use more than 1/2 of it

just keep bleeding them, starting at the one closest to the master cylinder and work your way back(so front driver, front pass, rear driver, rear pass) until they feel like brakes should feel. test driving them helps too because you are used to the feel with the brake booster on. you cant see bubbles in the lines but when they come out you can tell. the fluid comes out smoothly and evenly but if theres a bubble it will spurt or sputter somewhat.

I thought you started at the farthest wheel.

not from what i know
its like squeezing a tube of toothpaste
you know there is no bubbles in the master cylinder, so you bleed the closest one and any bubbles will get pushed farther and farther back as you go

Ok, I checked and you`re right, it`s the closest wheel first.
