Hey guys, I have no clue which model and what features are good for a car alarm. I"m looking for an alarm/remote starter combo for my Spec V. Any suggestions??? Thanx a lot.

my dealer told me not to go compustar because it screws up something..also for remote starter, if you have immobolizer, you have to pony up some cash for a chip for them to bypass it

I will be putting in a Viper 300 or 550 in the next month. Most installers will not put a starter in a manual tranny car. I have always used DEI products in my cars, and have never had any problems. I never even had a remote go bad, and I had them for 6 years!

How come installers won't put starter in a manual car??? What's DEI??

dei is a company that makes alarms.. sidewinder, viper are some of its brands.
some don't install on manual cars because if you leave it in first, your car can take off and crash..however, they do have some with a special feature where it makes sure your car is in neutral and your handbrake has to be up..it is extra to install this though

I used to sell the alarms (started selling after I bought my first one) and in rare cases, the installers would put remote start on our manual cars. But never for a customer. It is a huge liability!
