rebuilding a toyota 3vze engine and im just not quite sure how to prime the oil pump. any pointers would be appreacheated

Toyota doesn't have any instructions for priming after an engine rebuild. You could pack the pump with lithium grease. That will help.

Check out a toyota factory manual for that year engine.
