I want to peice my turbo kit together like Tims240 and i was wondering if im looking to be happy at 250-300 RWHP should i look to buy only the
"T3 .48 AR Turbine .60 AR Compressor Housing 60 Trim" on boost designs or is the "T3/TO4E .48 AR Turbine" worth the extra hundred? are their any extra advantages to the second one or is the first one fine b/c i definitly plan to stop around 250-300 max?

did you buy it b/c u were lookin for more than 300 at the wheels sometime or is there other reasoning for it too?

i dont know if i would actually go above 300hp on that exhaust housing, probably right at 300. but i plan on having 270 or so and when the drag strip comes hopefully 300. but thats just for now, after internals are replaced, its fucking on. (like donkey kong) somethin like that

you're probably thinking that the turbo doesnt look too big on the boostdesigns website, but wait until it shows up on your front porch. you will be amazed.

in my opinion, yes.

T3/T04E is the best all around turbo. I personally don't like those quick spoolers. I like to be kicked in the ass around 4k. But the 50trim will get you enough air to make around 400whp. 57 trim coming in around 450whp. The 60 trim can prolly do close to 500whp. Ivan is doing like 638whp on a T3 flange, but don't look for too much more using a T3 inlet flange. At that point, you should begin looking into T4 inlet flanged turbos.

I personally run a T04B .60ar S-Trim compressor/.69ar P-Trim turbine. Spools at 4k and hits fucking hard (esp now that I'm running 9psi. More in its efficiency range). Like dumping the clutch.lol

T51 KAI SPL BB... should be good to about 340HP spooling at 2000RPM

i would say that, that turbo could hold a good 800 hp.
and almost gaurantee it wouldnt hit full boost until atleast 4k

getting smoked worse than normal by the evos/sti's. if theyre a good driver and they feel like launching they make full boost at launch lol so the time it takes you to hit boost they are gone. but even with a quick spooling turbo the 4wd will still rape you

But if you are a good driver with some traction, you pass them in third gear at around 5k when HP falls off due to the hairdryer tehy are running.

But of course awd rapes you in the beginning, but you catch up if your a faster car period. I would always expect to catch up to an awd car after the launch.

Well it depends on WHP at that point. Whoever puts the most HP to the ground will catch the other person. And STi's aren't really lagging too much in that department.

ANd once you get moving, they lose any advantage that AWD would give them, so from a roll, it's easy.

yes but if you run into evo/sti guys that are as smart about turbos as our fortunate forum members are, advantage=them. less of an advantage at the drag strip, thats true but i still say AWD is better.

but you guys are right, its not impossible to overcome their advantages..

well its not really less of an advantage at the drag strip but it gives you more time to catch them if they do have a smaller turbo.

dudes dudes.... AWD will take off.

but if an evo lines next to u, ignore him wait for him to lunch. then chill. he will slow down, wonders why u didn't "race him" pull next to him (remember both cars are moving!) then put it in 2nd. he will put it in 2nd too and take off. at that point both of u are at a roll!

it works almost every time!

and when u beat them (top of 3rd gear) they will ask for a rematch off a line. at that point u say:
