View Full Version : What is cheaper? What is cheaper? iVteC_PoWeR 05-17-2005, 04:49 PM GSR2NR94 05-17-2005, 09:45 PM If you were to go with a custom turbo setup, it would save you quite a bit of money depending on the quality of parts you bought, but I believe that boost designs has a good setup for $1800, which doesn't sound bad at all. I have a couple friends putting together a custom setup right now. If you are just looking for a little bit of boost, I would buy a T3 turbo (or maybe T3/T4 if you eventually want to up the boost, but that turbo would cost more). Then, you buy your intercooler, downpipe (or even weld yourself a downpipe), wastegate, and there are a couple other little things, but the main things you would want to get first are the turbo, intercooler, intercooler piping, and downpipe I think. GSR2NR94 05-17-2005, 09:46 PM OH! And definately the turbo manifold. I almost forgot. 240SXSlideStar 05-17-2005, 09:57 PM the basic BD kit is 2k$. GSR2NR94 05-18-2005, 02:59 AM Wow, they upped the price then because I looked a few months ago and I thought it was $1800. Oh well. I could be wrong I guess. Silvia_Scoundrel 05-18-2005, 01:43 PM A kit would definately be cheaper. Check out turbocalculator.com, they have a variety of kits for cheaper than most any other places around. Their T3 50trim kit with internal wastegate and 30x10x3in intercooler is $1273 240SXSlideStar 05-18-2005, 01:46 PM #1. You get what you pay for. #2. Those kits don't come with oil lines, fuel management, BOV, etc. #3. The turbo for that price is a fucking small ass turbo. TatII 05-18-2005, 02:56 PM boost design prices went up becsaue they use to come with a T3 turbo and they would charge $200 dollars extra for the optional T3/T4. now the kit only comes with a T3/T4 so technically speaking, its the same price. nissanfanatic 05-18-2005, 08:56 PM This is too vague of a question. Too many variables. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
