I just bought an 85 Yota on gas and propane and it misses or farts on hills/acceleraion intermittently. It sounds like a carb backfire. All speed is lost and then you have to slowly start again and the problem doesn't appear again until the next hill or heavy acceleration.

Any help would be appreciated? :dunno:

check timing
vacuum routing
valve clearance
inspect spark plugs
air filter
cap and rotor
spark plug wires
air intake

Thanks, i'll have to start that checklist with the spark plugs.
Someone suggested that propane requires a different gap than gas, so i'll have to do that. the wires are almost new.

If your propane conversion was done correctly? it should not require any modification when switching over from propane to gas and vice versa. I'm not suggesting that you not check the above mentioned items, just my 2 cents...
