The easiest but not the least expensive route is to go on Crutchfield and buy a receiver and the Scosche faceplate and wiring kit. They will throw in free detailed instrunctions and free DIN tools that allow you to remove your current receiver (which CAN be done with coat hangers if necessary).

The Scosche kit can be had on eBay for less than Crutchfield, and many receivers (particularly Pioneer and Sony from my experience) can be had for far less if you search on froogle.com and pricewatch.com.

Be careful when you hook it up, an after market radio is the source of a good many puzzling auto electrical problems.

crutchfield is HIGH, check out cardomain.com or even walmart for that, cardomain will get you free install kits that includes your dash kit and wireing kit, its very simple, just pull the old out, put the new in by connecting the same color wires, be sure you disconnect your battery while your doing this or pull your fuse

wally, the taurus has a very interesting panel, the dash kit includes new rotory A/C Controls and rear defogger button and thus is quite expensive, it costs at least $30.
