I have a 1993 ranger with a 4.0 v6 and it has overheating problems....we have has 3 different kinds of thermostats in it....it has all new hoses, newer head...some days it will run just fine and other days it will overheat....we have replaced just about everything...could it be the water pump?

you could have air in the system or even a bad radiator cap.

it could be your radiator. dose it run normal temp in city but overheat on highway? this is your radiator. just replaced mine on my 91 dodge and alls good now.

did the radiator cap thing...no help...maybe its air

oddly, it does mostly tend to get hot on the expressway, but not always. any reason you can figure this could happen? i would think more air at 70mph the better....i would have never thought of that. nor did my (ex) mechanic

you called it...the problem was the radiator, and so was my EX mechanic...thanks for your help

my truck wasnt overheating but it was running around 210 degrees. i replaced radiator, waterpump, and thermostat fixed it ..
