Left Turn Signal/Brake Light out

I have a 1998 FD Expedition 140,000 miles. The L/R brake light/turn signal won't work. Tail light works fine. Just the brake light/turn signal is out. The signal flashes fast on left side.

The Bulb is good. I Used a known good bulb as test. The Flasher is OK. I replaced just in case, & does same thing. I even checked voltage at the Bulb housing and found one wire dead (Labeled "Major")

Help!!! Any ideas before I take it to a electrical specialist?

If you tried the bulb and it is the correct bulb and it won't work get a new socket.I just bought a socket for a 2003 and it was only 16.50 tax included.

I've got the exact same problem on my 98. Sometimes it will start working again on it's own, sometimes I have to take off the lens and mess with the socket to get it to work, but it seems like the problem will eventually come back again.
Did you find out what the problem was?

I have a 1997 expedition and have the same problem with the right side brake light/ turn signal. How do you remove the assembly? Is there more then the removal of the two screws to remove the housing. It does not want to come out after the two screws are removed....
