Me AgainKingnick213 05-11-2005, 12:28 AM Well i think i filled the oil up too much, by a 1/2 a quart is that really bad, can we drive it. SnoopisTDI 05-12-2005, 01:31 PM I don't think 1/2 quart is a big deal. The last time I took my car in to teh stealership for an oil change(and I do mean the LAST!) they overfilled it by well over a quart. I drove for a couple hundred miles before I realized this, and the car seems fine. Although I didn't hear any change in sound like you did. Usually if it's overfilled a little I think the oil will just burn off and settle out at a normal level. But if you want to get rid of it, you could always get a top-side oil extractor like a Pela 6000 or a Tempo Oil Boy and suck out some of the extra oil. You can order them from a lot of places on-line, or probably find one at a local boat shop or marine supply store. The oil extractors are great- I live in an apartment so they shit if they see you underneat the car. If you use one of these, you don't have to go under the car to drain the oil, you just suck it out through the dipstick tube. But if it's really only 1/2 quart of extra oil, I don't think the sound is related. Not sure what else it could be though. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
