My wife is the hero of this story. It was last Friday late in the afternoon. me and some friends decided to go to the track for the night so we all met up and caravaned out. my 3000GT, my friends 3000GT, an STI and my wife's 98 Eclipse GS auto.

we pull up to a red light. My wife is first at the light and I am right behind her. the STI and the other 3000GT had fallen back a few cars. to her left a minivan, to her right a gold Ford Focus with 17 inch rims, a muffler, a double deck alluminum wing and an emblem that read "Focus ZXT"
now I've seen the ZX3, ZX5, Steeda, Saleen, and even heard of a Rouge Focus....oh and the RS (now that evryone has GT4 we all know wtf an RS is!) but I never seen a ZXT.
the guy takes one look over at my wife (remember she is alone in the car) then he revs, looks again and starts licking his lips. then he starts calling out to her. "pssst, hey sweetie, pssst"
I start thinking well I hope the T dosent stand for "turbo" cause she's pissed now.
Light goes green, the guy takes off hard. I could tell he was flooring it cause of the muffler but the tires didnt chirp, engine sounded stock. My wife is right next to him matching his speed. He shifts to second, now remeber she has an auto so she pulled a little on that shift, well the dude never recovered. once she edged him out a small puff of unburned fuel spewed out of her muffler and she just kept pulling. one car, two cars, three car lead by 75mph. all this time I was keeping up but I didnt interfear cause it was her run.
at around 80mph I look over and see the guy still hard on the gas, little engine still trying to catch her, shes still runing away with a three car lead. I match up right next to the guy just in time to see the funninest response. he looks over at me. I pont and laugh, he punches his stearing wheels and looses control for a sec. his car shakes left and right then he recovers. poor guy, must be his first loss.......to a girl!

And to add insult to injury she toys with the jerk for a little bit before dropping the hammer and wasting his lame ass, this story is an AF classic IMO, I love it! Props to your wife for a well deserved kill. :bigthumb:

That must have been one slow ass focus for a GS to beat it. It's cool that your wife is into racing somewhat, my girlfriend's the same way.

My wife loves racing Civ! shes has three brothers, all of them are car freaks. and she had the digi-cam with her at the moment! I kicked my self over that one too.

My wife still has the Starion i3o2Matt. She bought it and signed the title but a few months later we started stripping it down to rebuild it. Its OUR Starion now since I'm doing most of the decisions on it. It'll be a while before we get it on the streets though.

The Eclipse isnt that fast but its not ment as race car per say! she got it cause the Starion had to go into the shop and she needs transport.

are u sure thats just a GS? correct me if i'm wrong...thats the wing they put on the GS-T...unless someone installed a turbo wing on the car...i dunno cuz my best friend's girl was lookin at a Spyder GS-T n it didn't have a wing on it...-shrug-

Its a GS alright. not the first Ive seen with that wing and front bumper.
I think 98 was the first year they started putting the aero package on the GS.

thats a great story and that eclipse looks clean i like it.

I'm not so sure thats a GS too, cuz the automatic GS's lose to about everything in the world (including the d16 vtec) the rims and wing say GS-T, there were OZ rims for the GS models and the front air dam on the passenger side isn't there which would be for the intercooler. on the turbo

beats me! she was asking me how to join AF the other day. I told her to but she hassnt gotten around to it.

She is a beautiful Eclipse GS. Very reliable. Although, I don't think just about anything can beat it. It's not only the car that determines a race but also the driver that plays an important role in the process.

She works nights, I work mornings. when I wake up and leave the house she is still sleeping, when I get home she has already left and by the time she gets home I am already knocked out.

She works at the Fountain Bleu Hilton which just got taken over by the Thornberry Corp. (Mr. Hilton is actually going broke, seriously! It will probably make the headlines by late this year)
She is part of the new takeover and is learing a bunch of fields but primarily she is in the receptions dept.

I'm a one man orchestra. I work for a home fashions/ interior deco company. I'm doing a bunch of stuff now. I started as a "Work Assist Manager" which was more in my professional field but now Ive taken over the shipping dept and international export dept. too. we are so short handed right now.

her training will be over with soon and she can start working mornings so we will have our evenings together again. we do both have access to the net at our stations at work so thats why i'm always on and whenever the hotel is dead, she will be on aswell.

Mr. Hilton is actually going broke, seriously! It will probably make the headlines by late this year

With a daughter like Paris, I'm not suprised.
