Does any one know if Rancho makes an RSX application for the Xterra? I don't wanna be messin' with knobs on the 9000's,...... If so, what's the part #? All I'm doing is AAL's and Torsions for temps...A-Arms will come later.....If they don't I'll go with the Bilstiens.... Thanks all!

Well i just bought a set from 4 wheel parts in San Antonio, Tx. I went to the store last friday and they told me RSX were made for Xterras as well so i ordered them. I am waiting to receive them and try em on. Ill let you know the part number as soon as i am sure they fit.

:flash: On 10/25/2002 I put on my ranchos RSX on my 2002 and to Xterra, and love then, I also have bilstien on my wife's 2001 xterra and they also ride good but the bilstien is a stiffer ride copared to my rancho and my son also has a smoother ride when he is strapped into the back seat

well ive had the RSX's on my 2001 for a while now and yes it is a very smooth ride actually all of the people that i know are amazed by how smooth my truck is. There is one problem and i do not know if it is related to the shocks or not but my front tires are wearing out very unevenly im going to take it into the shop today to do a rotation, but i think it is normal. Does somebody else has this problem?????
Thanks in advance

VENX - What are the part #'s for the RSX's? I've searched but noone posts the parts for Front or Rear. Little help? Right now I'm running Procomp 3000's :uhoh: (Hey they were temps untill I was lifted properly)

I had looked into RS9000's, but I don't really want to be messing with knobs and such.....Do they make RSX's for a lifted X? My baby is going up properly this weekend!:D

I had RSX's back when nobody was making shocks specifically for the Xterra, but sold them for $50/set when I got my Bilsteins. Those RSX's were then handed down to another club member who needed to replace his crapped out stock shocks. They're sort of the bastard child in our club, going from truck to truck.

The RSX's are an improvement over stock (hell anything is), but the Bilsteins perform so much better offroad I would never switch back.

BTW, some of our club members swear by RS9000's on the rear of their trucks. But then they all seem to be from Oregon, and well....you know...they're from Oregon. ;)

Now that this is working again...

Rancho does not offer a fitment for lifted Xterras. I'm guessing that if you're lifting you're probably doing other mods anyway so the RSX's probably won't be a good choice.

The RSX is a good inexpensive alternative to factory shocks for stock trucks but they don't do extra weight well, like ARB bumpers and such. If you are adding weight or lifting get the Bilstiens shocks or those Calmini offers. Those are probably your best bets.

You guys looking for stock replacements might try Old Man Emu too. You can get them from Overlander and I've heard they're pretty nice.

I like my Bilstiens because they keep my ride stable and under control at all times. The truck doesn't bounce around and handles dips in the freeway really well. Never a loss of control with the Bilstiens.

BTW Schlud, your 30" Pirellis are getting around too! I don't know if you heard but Andrea went to 31" Scorpions and sold the 30's to Rick to replace his Grabbers. And where are our damn brake lines?

Yes they do. I am getting 4 of the put in my 2000 Xterra on Thursday, along with ad-a-leaf.

Well here is a different take.

I put the RSX's on my stock 2000 way back when and I was NOT impressed.

Did not seem much different than stock to me.

Switched to 9116's in the rear and Bilsteins on the front.
The 9116's were MUCH better. (the knobs are no big deal. Just leave them on the 'middle' setting.)

I am now running 99116's in the rear.
Did not much if any difference from the 9116's.

Not lifted and yep - I'm from Oregon.

Oh yeah - remove the rear sway bar.

I got a smoother ride when I installed HD torsion bars.
