When moving in reverse, our cherokee would "bounce" on occasion. If you stopped and started again it would usually stop. The problem has now increased to the point where on a few occasions if the thing is running it will not shift into reverse until it has been turned off.

Over the past few days, it has become increasingly harder to up or downshift while traveling, there is a stiffness to the gears and you have to be at certain rpm's to get it to go into gear.

Ideas and tips would be appreciated. tia
