94 Caravan 3.0l v6, 150k, autodeanhale1 05-08-2005, 05:04 PM 94 Dodge Caraven V6, 3.0 auto Caravan stalls whenever I take my foot off the gas. Recent services include tune up, wires, cap & rotor, replace idle control motor & throttle control, clean out throttle area, fuel filter, replace distributor. O2 sensor was done about a year ago.. and routing preventative maintenaqnce. NO trouble codes! This hs cost me big bucks, over $1k now. It doesn't stall if I there is any feed via acceperator. This is a nice "clean" stall. No hesitation, just like someone hit the ignition. I finally got a temp fix in by adding a "stop" to increase idle speed by 25rpm. Starts, runs, performs great. Other dangling symptom: Momentary hesitation at acceleration from atraffic light that is just 500 yeards from cold start. (Feels like accelorator pump failure from carberated cars of a previous era) Then fine. At 2-3 miles (and just having reached apparent normal operating temp) there is an unburned gas smell for a minute or two. Then it is flawless for hours. The hesitation repeats (one cycle) if I let it cool for an hour and do a restart. Mileage is just fine, hasn't changed for years. I've searched Alldata & lots of forums... no luck. dealseaker 05-08-2005, 05:46 PM 94 Dodge Caraven V6, 3.0 auto Caravan stalls whenever I take my foot off the gas. I had the same exact problem with my 96 nissan senta, it was worse with the a/c on, I put fuel injector cleaner in it and it fixed the problem, instead of putting the cleaner in with a full tank, I put it in with ~ 1/2 tank, and ran it down, then refilled and put another injector cleaner in it and it seamed to fix the problem, I used chevron cleaner (black bottle with cardboard advertising on bottle neck from walmart) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
