Well i'm sure some of you may know my car by the races i've had against people on AF. Before I ran Danno at the track, I realized something was amiss as soon as a mechanic showed me the milky matter in my coolant reservoir. Needless to say i'm happy i'm under warranty, and that this issue was dealt with before I put in the Z06 cam I bought last month.

More then likely I was probably losing some power due to the head gasket leak. The dealership I took it to said that they may have to remachine the head. Once that happens, I plan on getting the Z06 cam put in, and finding some more victims :D

Glad to hear it's still under warranty...so any idea how long it will be down under the knife?

Well the tech guy told me it would likely take a week, as it has to have an investigator check it out, and also it has to be magnafluxed, to see if there are any leaks. The inspector should be there by Tuesday, and then it should be magnafluxed within due time. I just hope they are able to remachine the stock head I have on the car. I honestly don't think it was me being aggressive with the car, I think the previous owner was FAR more aggressive with her.

Wow, a head gasket leak on an LS1, i've never personally seen one of those yet. You must really have to rape the car to get that problem.

Agreed. But I guess it could just happen.

Since the heads will be off....consider having them worked. Would be worth it if you plan on tossing in the LS6 cam. Still not sure why anyone goes with that cam though. It isn't worth a bunch of power.

Well it's being done under warranty, and I don't want to hand the dealership my Z06 cam, to have it installed.

I picked the Z06 cam, because it makes the car sound stock. It will add about 25-30 whp. Not a bunch of horsepower, but good enough for me.

Fair enough. That is most people's response when I ask them as well. My cam gave me 41 RWHP without tune, but I picked up a noticeable lope. Which I love. :smokin:

You dont, you replace it.

Then, after you've replaced it... You return it to the wild where it can run free and mate with other headgaskets... and make baby gaskets.

At least that's what I read on the back of a Felpro box...

Only felpro's though, cause their gaskets are just soooo unbelievable like that, i once saw one doing it doggy style on the river bed with an intake gasket...it was gorgeous...

Well turns out it wasn't a head gasket. I've been having trouble with the power steering since I got the car (New power steering pump, motor). Turns out it is my power steering cooler. Somehow it was flowing power steering fluid into my radiator. They wanted to actually charge me to flush the radiator. Does this sound professional to you guys???
Oh well ,atleast the power steering cooler is covered under warranty. Cam will be going in in 2 weeks or so, or atleast, so I hope.
