Lights will go out at Catalunya in a few hours. Raikkonen is once again on pole with Webber in the Williams starting alongside him. As I always seem to say - fingers crossed for a reliable run for Kimi's McLaren. :uhoh: Montoya and Schumacher share the fourth row so could be some fireworks at the first corner between those two...

Lights will go out at Catalunya in 14 minutes! Are you getting a delayed coverage again?

Kimi's looking very good for the race, Mclaren seem to have sorted the pace issues, now I'll join Phil in hoping Kimi's car lasts the race.

TV coverage doesn't start here for a couple of hours. I'll have to follow it on the net - until Kimi breaks down at least.

Both Minardi's stalled on the start line.

Almost enough to make you feel sorry for them.

RallyRaider

Are you watching it live Jimster?

Jimster

I am indeed.

Montoya got the jump on Schumacher

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:14 AM
Lucky sod! Oh well it is actually quite interesting to just follow the timing.
Kimi is streaking away from Alonso in second after the restart.
Schumacher actually looks to be holding those behind him up - he must be fat with fuel.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:15 AM
Montoya spins! Schumacher's right back up his arse.

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:15 AM
Montoya just went around 360 degrees, I'm shocked Schumi didn't get past him.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:16 AM
As Phil said he must be running heavy. Surely his tyres are up to temperature now...

Jimster

Luizzi off.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:18 AM
Liuzzi spins off on Turn 11.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:23 AM
Kimi is into the low 1:16s! Nobody else has gone below 1:17 yet ...
He has 10 seconds on Alonso. I hope he can stay out as long as everybody else on the first stint.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:24 AM
Kimi's pulling away from Alonso, who's being caught by Ralf, who in turn is being caught by Webber.

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:25 AM
Poor Minardi, this time it's thier rubbish drivers more than anything.

Kimi is smoking hot at the mo, though you have to wonder when the next breakdown for McLaren is coming.

I thought it was a software thing

Unless I imagined Friesacher spinning off, I'd say they managed to start them. :p

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:28 AM
Montoya almost 2s a lap slower than Kimi.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:28 AM
Webber is the first to pit.

Ralf is REALLY riding Alonso's ass now.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:32 AM
Kimi's lead is up to 20 seconds on lap 20. Apart from him it is actually quite close down to tenth.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:32 AM
I always thought he was a bit of an ass jockey

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:34 AM
Michael is speeding up now, let's hope it's ass-kicking time.

Jimster

Trulli also pits, Kimi is blowing a wee bit blue smoke.

Alonso pits, engine sounds coarse, rears needed pressure adjustment

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:40 AM
Alonso's in to the pits. Rear-tyre pressure adjusted.

Trulli's gotten past Ralf on the track somewhere.

crayzayjay

Are you watching ITV, Jim?

Jimster

Fisichella's pitting, non-controversial pit, exits ahead of Alonso.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:43 AM
Fisico moves ahead of Alonso.

RallyRaider

Montoya is staying out for a long time. Schumacher we expected, but Monty is a surprise, single stopping?

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:44 AM
D'oh, as I post that he pits!

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:44 AM
Schumacher sets the fastest lap of the race in the low 1.16's.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:45 AM
D'on, as i post that they both pit!
Schumacher has yet to pit.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:45 AM
1.15.6 for Schumacher.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:46 AM
Yeah - edited.
Whats wrong with Montoya?

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:46 AM
Schumacher pits

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:47 AM
Schumacher's in. Doesnt look like enough fuel to last the rest of the race.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:47 AM
Schumacher pits at last. Was his stop a long one? Might be all he makes this afternoon?

No news on Monty.

Nope, looks like a short middle stint for MS.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:50 AM
Fisichella has done well to leapfrog Alonso for second.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:54 AM
Schumacher is running pretty slow. Just judging by that he may have enough for the end?

Bad lap for Kimi, did Barichello baulk him?

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:56 AM
Yep.

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:56 AM
Barichello certainly made him work for the pass.

Jimster
05-08-2005, 07:57 AM
Fisichella has pitted to repair the front wing.

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 07:57 AM
Kimi has cut his pace a bit, keeping the gap to second at 25 seconds. Should be enough for him to pit without losing the lead.

ales
05-08-2005, 07:58 AM
Fisico has to pit to have the front wing changed. a 35 second stop, his podium hopes are over. Probably made a mistake off-screen.

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 07:58 AM
Fisi's back in. Change of front wing... Has he run off-road? In any case, he's lost a good minute and 11 positions.

ales
05-08-2005, 07:59 AM
MS's stop was some 3 seconds quicker than Rubens's, so don't think Schumi is on a one-stopper.

ales
05-08-2005, 08:01 AM
And there's information that there was a refuelling issue with JPM during his first stop, so he had to come in again. Kimi has absolutely destroyed Montoya in this race anyway

RallyRaider
05-08-2005, 08:02 AM

That's a relief.
Not that he has to worry, Fisichella tripped over himself and surely Kimmi can't have bad luck free weekend?

crayzayjay
05-08-2005, 08:02 AM
Ralf seems to be catching Trulli.
