2nd race of the year, made it to the 3rd round this time. Also had a new best 60' and 330 ET thank to much better track conditions and new Good Years.

1st time run, right lane:
-RT: .522 -60 ft: 1.563 -330 ET: 4.550 (spun when it shifted)

2nd time run, left lane:
-RT: .511 -60 ft: 1.510 (new personal best at that time) - 330 ET: 4.450

3rd time run, right lane:
-RT: .477 (foul) -60 ft: 1.551 -330 ET: 4.502 (screwed up my burnout, forgot to let off the foot brake and when I released the line lock and floored it to come out of my burnout, the car just set there and so I just quit and dry hopped it once.)

1st round eliminations, right lane:
-Dial: 4.48 -RT: .536 -60 ft: 1.529 -330 ET: 4.457 (didn't screw my burnout up this time)

(bought back in)

2nd round eliminations, left lane:
-Dial: 4.40 -RT: .517 -60 ft: 1.480 (new personal best) -330 ET: 4.403 (new personal best-and I also lifted once, had I not done this, I would have ran a 4.39x, but would have lost the round)

3rd round eliminations, right lane:
-Dial: 4.40 -RT: .491 (foul) -60 ft: 1.517 -330 ET: 4.450 (right lane didn't hook as good as left all night, plus I had to rainbow the car by either being lined up slightly pointed to the left or having my wheel cut slightly too the left).

So I had a decent night. Track hooked good, especially the left lane. The new slicks have made a world of difference. Everybody told me my left front tire was atleast a foot off the ground, and the right was up about 3 or 4 inches. Dad said it planted both wheelie bars every pass. I know I could def. tell a difference in how the car launched with these new slicks.

I actually got close to matching the cars best ever 60 ft at this track (1.46 and it was before I started driving it) with my 1.480, and that of course was with a different engine (that engine probably has 75-100 more hp then the one thats in the car), but I'm still off .16 for its best ever 330 ET (4.26-and that number will never be matched with this engine).

Cliff Notes:
-New personal best 60' and 330 ET (1.480 and 4.403)
-Lost in 3rd round due to .491 red light
-New slicks and much improved track conditions for the 2nd race of the season.
-Def. could tell a big difference in how the car launched (especially on the 1.480 60' pass)

Nice runs. Are you planning on any more upgrades, or does it not matter, since you run in a bracket?

Nah. Atleast not anything to make it go any faster. I would like to get a disc brake conversion kit for the front however. Its got rear disc brakes already but drums on the front.

Anything I'd get right now would just be small little things. I'd like to have a digital delay box. I'd also like to have some drag front wheels for it (skinnies), you know, stuff like that.

LOL. Yeah. I guess you could say that!

The front suspension is why it has drums on the front, lol. It has like a 66 model Corvair front suspension with a steering box (not rack and pinion) and so that's why its got drum brakes on the front.

I say I'd like to have discs, but it has really good brakes right now and doesn't really need them, but oh well, lol.

Drag cars do a lot of their braking with the back tires because of the size differential between the front and rear tires. This means that discs on the rear of this 1/8th mile car more than make up for the lack of front discs. Also drum brakes can be adjusted for zero drag whereas discs will always have a bit of drag which hurts the performance. I would not race a car with this performance potential in the quarter mile on a regular basis without going to front discs.
