93 Park Avenue Ultra Constant Low Battery / Drainkieker 05-07-2005, 10:48 PM Little background on the situation: I had my car in the shop to get an A/C charge (still using Freon). The mechanics said my compressor didn't have any juice going to it and found out that the power control module wasn't sending it any. So they said either I could get a new control module (almost a thousand dollars) or they could reroute power to the compressor (three hundred). I took option B. The day after I got it back, I took it on the highway and as I was passing a car on a 2 lane I heard a loud sound followed by what sounded like a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. My AC stopped working and my battery began to drain as I drove it back to the same shop where I was told/shown the compressor had broke and the A/C tubing had come out. So they fixed that, but the battery was still low. I had the alternator replaced (went from 8 to 11.4 volts with the new one) -battery was still low. Replaced the battery next, but when I turned the car on and drove around it still hovered around 9 volts with the "Service Engine Soon" light. It would appear the battery is not getting charged. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks! wrightz28 05-09-2005, 03:37 PM Your problem would be "option B" they performed at "Jessub's Outhouse Garage" there. They did not fix your vehicle, nor does it sound as if option A would either as it dosen't sound like they can diagnose how to open a jar of pickles. This "shop" screwed up your car at your discretion, sorry, no other way to put it bud. PA's have long been known no matter how many times redesigned as being cursed by electrical gremlins. Now add unlce fester with a pair of wire snips and the sky is the limit on scinerios. Your battery, also, if they knew what the hell they were doing, is NOT getting proper charge (undoubtlfuly how "option B" is/was providing power for the compressor). A charging system in fair condition should put out no less then 13.5 volts with standard laod against it. With out load, 14.25 - 14.5 woudl be ideal. Get the "option B" undone, and don't be supprised if your engine management system is trash as well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
