Alright, I couldn't be the only one not to show off my clean truck (on the outside anyway). So here are some updated pics. Updates include, blue door handles, body molding removed, TYC tail lights and front parking lights, seat covers from Wet Okeloe Hawaii, Sony mp3 deck.

How hard was the instrument cluster to change, and were you able to keep your vehicle's mileage?

OMG, I just noticed your floormats... I have the exact same ones!

Cluster was a breeze. Just take off the trim piece (no screws, just tabs) then there are about 4 screws that hold the cluster in, remove those, unplug the harness, reassemble.

The cluster I bought had approx 1000 less miles than my original, so I left it alone. But the dealer will recalibrate them for 50-100 bucks.

I like my floor mats way better than carpeted ones, Even though they are a pain in the ass to keep clean.

Yeah, but they're easy as hell to wash... How much did the cluster cost? i guess you got it at a junkyard?

I got mine on eBay did a search for "escalade cluster" cost was somewhere around $260, I think.

It was easy enough, but had to use a lot of elbow grease and paitence to get all of the glue off. There is a permanent post at the top of the forum specifically for this topic, you might want to look there for more advice. And yes, the truck is painted under the molding.

Greetings Nineball,

Nice looking truck. Lately I've had a number of suggestions from friends - that I should consider putting fender flares on my 2004 for appearance and protection issues. I noticed you have about the same size tires and wheels as mine - and your side contour is very similar to mine. Any thoughts one way or the other regarding why you would or wouldn't consider fender flares?

My tires stick out from the body just under a 1/2". I personally like that look, it seems to give it a more aggressive stance. As for the fender flares, I would not put them on. Some of the flares out there are too bulky and gawdy looking to me. Now, that being said, some states require that fenders extend over the wheels, that would be one reason to get them. Another is that when it rains or you drive over freshly laid asphalt the tires fling it up on the body. But this hasn't been enough of a problem for me to want flares. Hope that helps a little bit.

I got them here at:Wet Okole Hawaii. (http://www.wetokole.com/) Just don't look at the price and you'll be fine. They fit great and feel great as well.

Very nice and clean man. But i'm disappointed in so many of yalls trucks. Yall go to great lengths to clean your trucks inside and out, but when it comes to floor mats yall just shy away. Come on now, take those fuckers out and give them some attention too.

Yeah, but some of us Montanans USE our trucks for more than daily commuters so we need them floor mats and get them dirty. :)

Nineball where is the pic of the engine? Gotta see if you got the rest as clean..... Like the rest of the truck, especially the escalade gauges.

On eBay the fully white face escalade gauges with mileage and hours programmed in is $376 including shipping. Called the dealers around here and they want to send the old and new dash off for at least a week to get the hours and miles swapped over. Can't be without my toy for over a week, just who do they think they are ?:thumbsdow

uhh, yeah, pictures of my clean engine....I accidentily deleted those.... I need to take new ones *yes, new ones*. Give me a day or two.... :icon16:

Oh about the gauges, you can go to any auto repair that does speedometer/gauge work to have it done. A second but less appealing alternitive would be to have a vaildated sticker confirming the difference in the original mileage to the new mileage. The sticker gets placed in your door jam, I believe.

JCL82- I like the looks of those mats, Their web site says they're not avaliable. I will have to look at my local store to see if they have them.

Oh yea for sure. I have carpet mats and they're usually dirty the day i clean em. You just can't neglect em imo.
