88' pickup won't start?toyo03 05-07-2005, 03:40 AM I've got an 88' Toyota pickup with the 3.0liter V6 that won't start and need some input? I checked spark and there is lot's of it, checked fuel and pressure is good, what more can I check? Just before it died on me it started right up with no problems, but after moving it ten feet or so it just died out and wouldn't start up again? I feel I'm at my wits end, can anyone help me here? Thanks. KimMG 05-08-2005, 02:04 AM are you getting fuel? corbinwaterski 05-08-2005, 12:03 PM Air filter clogged or dirty? Try removing it and see if it starts. toyo03 05-08-2005, 05:00 PM Yup, tons of it too. I even sprayed some starter fuel in the intake and cranked it over but it still won't start even with that. It just doesn't make sense? KimMG 05-08-2005, 11:38 PM are the valves adjusted properly? Have you taken any compression readings? Timing chain or belt? toyo03 05-09-2005, 01:07 AM I am dreading to check but I will have to check the TB and go from there? toyo03 05-11-2005, 05:06 AM Hey peepo's, thanks for your recommendations and help, it turned out that t-belt slipped a couple of notches which caused the hard starting. I realigned the belt and now it runs as it should. Thanks again, toyo03 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
