Couple of "pre-purchase" questions. ModenaEli at Pelican 05-06-2005, 10:24 AM Hi all, I've just been hit up with the option to purchase a 2000 F550 Ferrari Modena for a decent deal, "I think"..... I did a couple of searches and only pulled up F550 MARANELLO, so possibly I was given some bad info…? ? ? Correct me if I was…. Thx I don't know much about all the details right now since the thing is a friend of a relatives but the car is on the block only to a few close friends so it could stay in the family "so to say". Any how I don't know much about Ferraris and I was hoping you guys would be willing to give me some much needed input before I pull the trigger... "If I do". Some of the info I'm hoping to get is: About the car Cost on maintaining per year or mileage Things I should look out for or expect Things to consider Retail input: fair price HP rating, 0-60, 0-100, top-speed etc. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input as I'm a Porsche guy but very new to the Ferrari line. -Eli porscheguy9999 05-07-2005, 01:29 PM I think I can help you. Its funny you should say YOUR the "Porsche guy" when clearly I am, haha... There is no thing as a F550 Modena, These are specs on both a 2000 360 Modena and a 2000 550 Maranello. 2000 360 Modena (mid-mounted engine RWD)-- Engine: 3.6L V8 Horsepower: 395 @ 8500 rpm Torque: 275 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm 0-60/0-100 mph: 4.2/10.2 seconds Top Speed: 189 mph Transmission: 6 speed manual MPG: 11/16 2000 550 Maranello (front-mounted engine, RWD)-- Engine: 5.5 liter DOHC 48 valve V12 Horsepower: 485 @ 7,000 rpm Toque: 419 lb-ft @ 5,000 rpm 0-60 mph: 4.7 seconds Top speed: 199 mph Transmission: 6 speed manual Anyways, the cost of maintaining a Ferrari is, of course, not going to be cheap. But I did get to ride in my dad's cousin's 2001 360 Modena F1 coupe. It had F1 paddle shifters. Very nice indeed. My friend's dad also owns a 550 Maranello, along with a 456, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, 911 Turbo, Range Rover, and soon, a Porsche Carerra GT... Sorry about the specs being kind of sketchy, but it's the best I could find for you. Hope I could help. Eli at Pelican 05-09-2005, 12:02 PM Porsche Guy, Thanks for your info, I found the car to be a 2000 550 Maranello V-12..... I'm still considering but may have to sell the Porsche to help float part of the bill.... -Eli TexasF355F1 05-10-2005, 11:26 AM Just a rule of thumb for Ferrari ownership. Higher mileage equals a good car that will be far less troublesome than one with very few miles. Eli at Pelican 05-10-2005, 01:18 PM I don't recall how many miles this one had.... If I get a chance I'll update, I'm in no rush to tell you the truth.... Its' just an other vehicle to me.... I've owned over 35 so far..... We'll see. -Eli Eli at Pelican 05-10-2005, 01:20 PM Jason, Is that a photo of yours? Orange? It's pretty nice.... I lived in TX for a couple of years, where are you located? -Eli Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
