Does anyone know an application for this type of automatic trans fluid? I picked some up at a sale thinking I could use it in my '95 E-150 4 spd OD trans which slips a little, especially in low gear up steep hill. Someone told me Dexron V could help, but never mentioned Mercon V. Can't find any info on it. Thanks , Huey

So, can I mix this Mercon V with DexronIII mercon without ruining trans? Is the DexronIII, or the Mercon less slippery? I know the Dexron is the most slippery and the old type F was the least slippery of all, so allowed the least trans slippage, but these fluids are not compatible with each other. I am trying to reduce cold slippage in low and reverse without having trans rebuilt (money shortage) Or is there a safe additive to help this. Trans usually operates well. Thanks for any advice.

Mercon V is approved for only ONE transmssion in an Econoline, the AODE/4R70W.

If you use Mercon V in an E4OD/4R100 it WILL FAIL.
