Can anyone tell me what size Torx bit I need to remove the front caliper brackets for a rotor install? Thanks.

cant you use a socket?

My impala (02') uses only 4 bolts to change the brakes, and the rotors.

It sure would be easier if I could use a socket - ( the Haynes for earlier year Chevrolet Lumina and Monte Carlo says caliper bracket is held in place by Torx head bolts). I'll have to take a look directly at the caliper. Thanks for the info.

I have a 2000 and mine have bolts holding them on...not torx bolts....i dunno might be that slight chance that they might be wrong....it's happened to me before with those books

My 96 Lumina was a Torx. I still have the socket at home somewhere, and when I get back home tonight if I can remember I'll go take a look. I want to say something like T45, but I'm not sure that's right until I look.

According to the GM manual there are bolts holding on the calipers for the 2000 Impala.

its because the haynes manual for the "2000 impala" isnt for the 00 and up impalas. ive looked at it in the store and it may say 96-00 but that may be for luminas and whatever other car it may cover, but its for the last model year of the impalas and monte carlos, the new body style started in 2000, so it cant cover 96 thru 00.

The haynes says up to 2002, The also was a gap for Impala's between 1996 model year to 2000. Yes I know 2000's were being made in 1999, but just going off of model year. My haynes manual works fine for finding and fixing most things I can with my 2000.
