If your wanting to make a clone of Eleanor, the best bet would be a 67 fastback, but a 68 will do too, it just has a slightly different interior. The body parts and everything can be bought from the mustang depot web site. I beleive the color was a DuPont Fleet Pepper Gray Metallic, code number 44490. The stripes were Dupont Fleet Black Mettallic code number 44435.

the gt-500 in gone in 60 seconmds wasnt a 67 gt-500 at all, it is a specialty car made by a company called unique performance down in texas, its basicly a 67 gt chassis with all custom everything else, they call it a 2003 gt-500E

dude we all love Eleanor but why do want a clone that everyone is doing...guys like u are fucking up mustangs....why dont u just make up ur look. i am not saying u shouldnt make an eleanor clone.. am saying u should what ever u want wiht ur money just dont fuck up a perfitly good car to make a clone

well if the guy wants an eleanor clone wouldn't he be doing what he wants with his money? furthermore if your concerns are regarding the timeless treasure of the classic stock mustang restored to perfection there are plenty of those out there and just about anything that anyone does outside of those lines could be considered "fucking up a perfectly good car." lastly, what damage do you suppose is done to an unrestored mustang that would be irreversible to make an eleanor clone?

They started making those after the movie was out. The car or two (can't remember how many they used) was a '67 Fastback Shelby Clone with an FRPP 351W crate motor in it. It was built around one of the legendary '67 GT-500 that got sneaked out with the 427 Side Oiler in place of the 428 Police Interceptor engine.

The junky-looking builder at the end of the movie was the real thing, and has now been restored and is owned by I believe the director of the movie.

A lot of people are building them. Makes more sence to me than to be in the Yellow Mustang Club I saw at Charlotte Auto Fair. They had on display the real Eleanor and I saw one clone there also .Rex

Why don`t you go to Ebay and buy a 1968 California Special or a 1966 through 1968 High Country Special? You can get a good one from anywhere between $10,000 and $30,000. I have a GT/CS and they are the next thing to become as expensive as the old Shelby`s. They made more Shelby`s in 68 than they did GT/CS`s. 1968 is the only year they made the GT/CS and not very people know they exsist because they are so rare. They are the ones with the taillights, foglights and side scoops like the Shelby. Shelby decided to produce a Shelby coupe since all they had so far was the fastback and convertible. After they made a prototype called the Green Hornet, Shelby decided not to produce them. Ford picked it up and produced them as the California Special`s. Go to www.californiaspecial.com (http://www.californiaspecial.com) to learn more. The High Country Special`s were produced between 66 and 68. The 68`s look just like the California Specials except for the side badges on the scoops where the stripes are. I`ll see you there! Rhonda

hey its his money! they did an Eleanor clone on an episode of Overhaulin'. all they did was just reverse the colors and it looked awesome! so just b/c its a clone doesn't mean he is going to screw the mustang up, even if he is inexperienced!

Try finding either a '67 or '68 Fastback (Good luck)

Give this company a call: http://www.maierracing.com/eleanorcontent.html

Do not quote me but I think they supply Mustang Depot, and Unique Performance with the kits they use to build their GT500E's.

The company that is manufacturing the 69 Camaro is also supposed to be redoing the 67 Mustang Fastback I read somewhere

Actually I believe Eleanor in the original Gone In 60 Seconds movie in 1974 was a 1973 Mach I.
