Transmission fluid change/TCC on 95-3.1Marlamar 05-04-2005, 09:59 AM Help! Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change the TCC solenoid out when you do a fluid filter change in the 4T60E transmission? Also , when I drained the transmission and removed the pan, I found 3 fragments of white plastic ( one was a 1/4 moon shape about 2-3" in diameter and about 1/4" wide and and less than 1/8' thick, other two fragments were very small. What are they,? Im going to replace filter and put in new fluid this evening, but would like to know if I can change out the TCC without tearing down the transmission (I suspect not) And YES, Murphy's Law is much more powerful than Occams Razor! jeffcoslacker 05-04-2005, 10:08 AM The TCC solenoid is external, you can do it without teardown. Somebody else found those same pieces in their pan a while back, but I don't remember what they turned out to be. Had some photos with the post. I'll see if I can find it. jeffcoslacker 05-04-2005, 10:14 AM I found the pic, but we never found out what it was. See if this looks like it? http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=282616&highlight=white+plastic jeffcoslacker 05-04-2005, 10:19 AM Marlamar 05-04-2005, 10:40 AM Help! Great!, Thanks Jeffco, you are the man! I remember seeing that post as well about those pieces in the pan, looks like they are pieces of some sort of hard plastic spacer that has been worn away...Funny thing is, when you look up into the transmission, there really doesn't seem to be anywhere they could have come from, that is, they appear to be too big for any passages that are visible. I vaguely remember someone saying they might be left over from production or assembly of the unit??? (hope so) Marlamar 05-04-2005, 10:45 AM I found the pic, but we never found out what it was. Think the tranny is the 4T65E. jeffcoslacker 05-05-2005, 12:39 AM When I say external, I mean you can access it with the trans in the car without gutting it. It's still a pain in the ass, it's in the vertical side cover on the driver's side of the case. I'm not sure on the 3.8's tranny. did you check that site I linked to? Pretty good stuff. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
