89 sunroof won't open

My 89 Camry sunroof doesn't want to open. The motor appears to work for a 1/2 second, that's it. I can't seem to assist it by hand either. The rear side of sunroof looks to be slightly gapped which might explain the leak I get down the RH side of windshield and door hinge area after a rain. I can't get the roof to move/seal.
Appreciate any help with this one as I don't have a manual.

They normally break. It's the little wires or belts in there, they break on one side, and that's it. I think the dealer wanted like $1000 to fix it. You have to rip down the headliner to get to it. Just go to Home Depot, get a $4 tube of silicone and seal it up.
