Window Fogging Problem

when the windows fog up I turn on the defrost to clear them but it seems to make it worse. and they will never totally clear.

Could this be an indicator that the heater core is leaking?

I dont find any coolant leaks (drips) under the hood or in the passenger area the carpet is dry.

do you smell antifreeze?

I dont smell antifreeze inside the car, however there is a very hazy film on the windsheild & window glass. Im convinced that the heater core needs replacing.

Anyone here have any detailed info or instructions on how to proceed with this replacement?

Is the haze there all the time? It could be smoke residue if you or the previous owner smoked. Get some window cleaner with ammonia in it and try washing the windows really well.

No the haze is not there all the time.
I bought the car new off the dealer floor and it has never been smoked in.
This problem started about 2 months ago and im just finally putting the pieces together of what was causing it.

I'd definetly say it's the heater core- happened to me last fall in my s10. As for replacing a camaro heater core it's not too fun. Remove dash pad, E brake handle, shifter knob, entire center console, unbolt dash speaker brackets, dash nuts near windshield, drop steering column, remove heater box cover under dash, then at least you can sorta see the heater core... then take out the heater core bolts-7mm and disconnect heater hoses right near firewall on heater core. Then you should be able to get it out! Good luck, PM me if you have any questions
