what to look for in a cartipota 04-30-2005, 11:08 PM i went to check out a 91 MR2 N/A today and the car was extremley clean inside and out. the only problem was when it started white smoke came out of the exhaust for about 20-30 seconds, and the coolant was a bit low. someone told me it was a blown head gasket, but i called up the dealer again and he told me that the car is old and since it hasnt been run for 10 days a little bit of oil leaks down and it happens on all toyotas. the car has 135k miles on it, and he was selling it for 4k. any advice? drdisque 05-01-2005, 02:04 AM what color was the smoke? tipota 05-01-2005, 03:04 AM it was white T6Y5 05-01-2005, 01:30 PM at least it isnt blue.. isnt blue like the worst sign? Sounds like an awesome car.. got any pics? tipota 05-01-2005, 02:06 PM ii dont have any pictures but it was at a small dealership. the car looked completley brand new so im really hoping its fine. drdisque 05-01-2005, 08:32 PM if it was white it was either water sitting in the exhaust system or a blown head gasket. Drive it around, if there's STILL white smoke blowing out after 5 or 10 minutes then leave and never come back.
