Can I sell a car with faulty air bags?Trahan360 04-30-2005, 12:01 AM I am trying to figure out if I can sell my 1998 Pontiac Sunfire with the Air Bags non operational. The Air Bag light has been on for over two years now. The dealer said it was an electronic issue that would cost about $300 to fix. I decided against fixing the air bags. Now it is time to sell the car in the condition it is in and I am not sure if I can sell it with the air bags not working. I am thinking about putting it in writing (bill of sale) that the air bags are non operational and I am selling the car in "As Is" condition. Any information would be great. I do not want to get stuck between a rock and a hard place. Thanks Trahan360 PS This is a high mileage vehicle in fair to average condition and compared to other vehicles my pricing is correct. I am not asking more than what the vehicle is simply worth and I did include a price reduction due to the air bags being faulty. drdisque 04-30-2005, 02:30 AM as long as you make it clear to the buyer that the airbags are non-operational, you can do what you want AlmostStock 04-30-2005, 03:11 AM Make it clear and in writing, yep.
