Service Engine Soon lightkamom 04-29-2005, 10:11 PM I just bought a 1999 Grand Voyager and it was running fine. When I went to get gas, I forgot to turn off the engine. It seemed ok riding home (I drove about 15 miles at 65 mph - the rpm was at about 2500). However, the next time I started the van, the service engine soon light went on and now it's revving high (it goes over 4000 at 50-55 mph) and I've been driving slower so as not to damage the engine. Is this due to my not shutting the van off while refueling? Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks. sandokana 04-30-2005, 04:07 PM 4000rpm is too high for 50-55mph. Is the transmission shifting properly? Sound like you lost overdrive on the tranny. Allbert 05-10-2005, 12:13 PM I just bought a 1999 Grand Voyager and it was running fine. Usually, leaving your engine running with the gas cap off will trigger a Evaporative Emissions System Failure code if anything. I wouldn't think this would be related to transmission function, but I don't know for sure. In any case, the guys at AutoZone can print out the detailed diagnosis when they scan for the codes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
