How to move steeringTonyosdc 04-29-2005, 12:14 PM I would like to move my steering column to the other side on my 87 Regal. Could anyone recommend a place that sells a kit to do so? PFJ5K 05-02-2005, 12:23 PM I don't think anyone makes a kit to move the steering wheel to the other side of a regal. I don't think GM ever even made a right hand drive 78-87 regal for England, Japan, etc... so you will have to fabricate all of the parts yourself. Why are you trying to convert you car to right hand drive anyway? Tonyosdc 05-02-2005, 05:18 PM I'm just doing it to be different. I'm tired of looking at the same old thing on everyones car. And no one here has anything like it. 88Regal Custom 05-17-2005, 11:07 AM that might be illegal, better check with your state you live in Dfisher40 07-29-2005, 04:23 PM Tony, Your request is next to impossible, unless your Jesse James or something. You'll have to get a new rack and pinion. You'll have to custom make a new dash. You'll have to reinforce the fire wall on the passengers side to mount the brake booster and master cylinder. This would probably mean turning the entire drivetrain around to make room for the stearing. It has to be one of the most difficult projects I've ever pondered! I am assuming this is an 87 Regal Custom FWD? right? Dave 88Regal Custom 07-29-2005, 08:20 PM Fwd on the regals did not come out untill the redesigned 1988 W-Bodys the 87's were Rwd regalfriend 07-31-2005, 10:47 PM The only way this can be done safely is to have an automotive engineer draw up blueprints for this and then you need to have many parts custom fabricated, and also will need to learn how to adjust the radio volume w/ your left hand....As the saying goes in England..."Keep left and you'll be allright, keep right and there will be nothing left" HotZ28 08-02-2005, 09:24 PM You could do like Mercedes Benz, and just Benz it to the right!! iamsodamnconfused 08-10-2005, 02:29 PM Honestly, it i'll be a lot easier going to England and buying a right hand drive car...DUH!!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
