NEW 1991 skyline GTS-Thahapauli 04-29-2005, 05:58 AM i just brought home my new car...lovely car...took to auto shop...for service and CHECK out exactly what I've done/got.... and come up with a coupla questions... HICAR light is always ON CAR will not shut down when it's hot...BUT after a coupla of minutes it stops... NISSAN mechanic says...perhaps it's to...protect turbo BEST international parts suppliers...*^^* hahapauli 04-29-2005, 05:59 AM Oh car is 1991 GTS-T...auto... hahapauli 04-29-2005, 06:03 AM sorry HICAS light is always on....obviously you can tell...I just driove it from dealer to ...workshop*^^* Lanzy61 06-04-2005, 11:53 PM about the hicas light check your power steering fluidas soon as it gets low the light comes on. For it not shuting down have a hunt arount for a turbo timer under the steering wheel if you have no luck time how long it takes for the car to shut off if its between 1-5 mins its a turbo timer hahapauli 06-05-2005, 06:46 PM yes the turbo timer....my first turbo*^^*....figured that out pretty quick...the experts say the ..GTS-T...doesn't need a turbo timer unless...you're going nuts in the car. THE HICAS....problem...does seem to be related to the steering fluid though MECHANIC says....there is enough fluid...there's a leak somewhere.(until some parts start arriving...MECH...won't go over the car more closely) Power steering doesn't kick in until...after five minute, a decent BUMP...or reverse parking.... I'm waiting on PARTS....for various minor ''neglect stuff'' (like it took three weeks to get brake pads) ANY body know a reliable parts supplier...who sends internationally...??? NOT just performance GEAR....BUT..maitenance and replacement parts as well...thanks. R32 HICAS is powered by the PS pump and a low fluid level will affect it. Otherwise check the connector on the HICAS computer under the parcel shelf - the square flat box. If the car has 5 stud hubs, 300ZX brake parts will fit like they were made for it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
