WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO YOUR CIVIC FIRST? body kit or cat back?rendog24 04-07-2002, 04:21 PM i can't figure out which one to do first. put the cat back on before the kit. will i have to adjust my exhaust if i put it on befor my kit? VTEC_boi 04-07-2002, 04:28 PM It doesn't matter. Body kit would be the LAST THING to go on my car... Well...before TYpe-R badges and altezzas maybe.. ;) J/K what kit did you get? The exhuast should fit fine if u got a pretty good quality kit. nemesls_2000 04-07-2002, 05:32 PM Body kit would be the last thing to go on my car too. I just really prefer performance over looks! changedagame108 04-07-2002, 06:57 PM I would never go for a body kit, just some simple lips. Performance over looks for me as stated before, so the catback would be my first option. But if you are willing to look into other options, I'd work on the suspension first. rendog24 04-07-2002, 08:00 PM i plan on getting a greddy evo exhaust for my 00 civic and a buddy club kit. any comments on the evo exhaust, good or bad?:smoker2: b16a2si 04-07-2002, 08:48 PM Originally posted by rendog24 i plan on getting a greddy evo exhaust for my 00 civic and a buddy club kit. any comments on the evo exhaust, good or bad?:smoker2: Excellent choice.:D I love my Evo.:ylsuper changedagame108 04-07-2002, 08:51 PM Originally posted by rendog24 i plan on getting a greddy evo exhaust for my 00 civic and a buddy club kit. any comments on the evo exhaust, good or bad?:smoker2: The evo is a nice exhaust. Deep and throaty. I prefer the 5Zigen Fireball though, which is deeper and has a lower tone than the Evo. Also, the tip on the Fireball isn't a crazy 4'', it's only 3''. Also, other engine mods will affect how your exhaust sounds, to a certain extent. For example, a CAI and a set of headers will make a deeper and definitely louder tone. rendog24 04-07-2002, 09:26 PM well i already have a aem cai and after my exhaust i was looking at getting some headers. i was looking at dc 4-2-1 ceramic. is there a better header out there? threethirteen 04-08-2002, 12:13 AM i had to go for the body kit first...stupid snow. stupid snow plows..goddamn stupid slippery snow!! bad snow bad! but i would have gone for the intake and exhaust first...cos thats what i did second... ....stupid snow.... dont buy cars in the winter. JayFidizzy 04-08-2002, 10:34 AM catback.... imo perfomance over looks onesojourner 04-08-2002, 12:32 PM ya get the exhaust itll make your car more fun. decora 04-08-2002, 04:51 PM Why make it look like a spaceship if you can't get it off the ground? 1995HondaCivic 07-25-2002, 08:52 AM the cat back won't do anything with the added weight of the body kit SmoovSol 07-25-2002, 11:13 AM i must say that the greddy evo is an ugly exhaust and I dont think it looked good on any car, lookz of exhaust matter to me though, but yes it does sound very nice. The best mod I have ever done to my car was and is the suspension, nothing beats riding low and comfortable... h82lose 07-25-2002, 06:17 PM Exhaust first!! Don't be all show and no go kicker1_solo 07-26-2002, 01:06 AM Originally posted by 1995HondaCivic the cat back won't do anything with the added weight of the body kit I'm sure he doesn't need help anymore, this thread was mad 3 months ago. I vote kit. :D CivSiGuy 07-27-2002, 07:15 PM cat back. kits are for men w/ small wangs VTEC_boi 07-27-2002, 07:17 PM screw 'em both. suspension WHY YOU GONNA PUT A BODY KIT ON A STOCK HEIGHT CAR? DAMN NEWBIES! kicker1_solo 07-28-2002, 01:04 AM Originally posted by VTEC_boi screw 'em both. suspension WHY YOU GONNA PUT A BODY KIT ON A STOCK HEIGHT CAR? If it is, yes, suspension first. :) JayFidizzy 10-24-2002, 12:54 PM Originally posted by kicker1_solo yes indeed, slam that baby to da ground :D how do you know it's stock height? If it is, yes, suspension first. :) whats the point?? you are going to drop a car with no performance....get some speed then go for the handling and then the looks. Alexxn 00 Si 10-24-2002, 04:25 PM DC Sports TCS exhaust is the only way to go..... Frostbyte 12-26-2002, 06:56 PM Personally I would never put a gay body kit on my car. Milliardo 12-28-2002, 07:56 PM Performance over looks first. I first took out my catalytic converter and replaced it with a power flow, got a large exhaust for it, and that's already for stage 1. With those in place I was able to beat most stock cars already. Then I put in a good race air filter and intake, then high tension wires and the spark plugs to go along with it. With those in place, I can easily take on most modded cars. My next target is to change headers, put in a stabilizer bar, then something new which my friend told me known as a power jet, which basically adds 40% more power and at the same time saves you 20% fuel. He said it works real well, and his car has actually gone faster with it. The only thing that I added to my car's looks are the new windshield nozzles with the lights, only mine have the wires not put in since I find the lights to not really enhance the car. And I only put in the new nozzles because the stock ones are easily taken off, and actually the driver's nozzle already fell off, so I was forced to buy new nozzles. And I put in a windshield visor--not the sporty ones. There's too many of them out there already. I decided to be unique and put in my favorite anime character, so I'm the only one I am aware of who has it. Oz 01-03-2003, 03:37 PM I think this whole notion of 'cat back = performance' is hilarious. All a cat back exhaust does is change the noise your car makes. It makes sweet fuck all power difference. So please, responders to this thread, stop crapping on about "performance first", because a cat back exhaust isn't going to give him that. The pathetic 1-5hp gain can barely be felt in seat of the pants acceleration in day to day driving and doesn't even remove the most restrictive part of a Civics exhaust (the stock manifold). I have to agree with the body kit last, though. So in conclusion, wait until you can afford to get a good air box, performance filter, full headers, high flow cat and exhaust. Then get it all at once! hey yo! 01-06-2003, 07:38 PM For the guy that was asking what is the best header, go get a Landspeed Powercore headers. One of Iport Tuners top ten performance parts of last year. DOC-50N 07-07-2003, 07:56 AM Before u want it to look like a "beast" make it sound and run like a "beast" :bigthumb: CivicSiRacer 07-07-2003, 11:14 AM I too am performance before show. I used to love the show scene with body kits and I don't mind tasteful type kits. But now I'd rather have performance over looks. B16EJ1 07-07-2003, 01:01 PM Where the hell did you find this old ass thread? DOC-50N 07-08-2003, 09:46 AM damn not again.. arghh!.. im jus replying to what pops up first .. pookeyduke 04-26-2005, 08:20 PM dude i would defenitly make fun of you if you were running a stock civic with a body kit.
