ecu90celi-lover 04-25-2005, 04:23 PM i saw 91celicast talking about how he got his st to 130 or whatever by moddifying his ecu, i was wondering where or how you moddify your ecu like that so it doesnt govern me at 105? 91 Celica St 04-26-2005, 01:55 PM you either have to 1) have a friend who spent $2k on an ecm system to put in your computer, and have all the connections to connect your (toyota) ecu to it or 2) send it into a place, (like JET) and have them re chip it, if i had the money i would have done this becuase i have places wehre my celica gets rich or lean but still has more power and btw My re tuend ECU is for sale, i bought a stock one off ebay for $50 and i spent $150 to get mine done for a friend (yes he is a firend but he still had to buy it and spend time on my ecu) so im selling my ecu for $250 thats relativly cheap considering the JEt thign is about $400 w shipping if the guy falls through that wants to buy it now ill sel it to anyone on this forum for about $200 cuz i need the money for a ticket i just got keep in mind youll have to run 91 octane gas but this is good for about 10-15 Hp and a WAY better Tq and Hp curve as welll as a 6800 Redline PittsburghCeli 04-26-2005, 09:09 PM 105 sucks. If mine was governed at 105 I would have to find a way to get it higher. I have a 91 GT and I have yet to reach the govern, with my max of 111, but my friend says he hit the governer in my car at 120. That is interesting that 105 is your max. I see you also have a GT, so is 105 the max speed for a 1990 and 120 for a 91 or do you have a different engine? I have the 2200 engine. nialusa 04-27-2005, 06:50 AM Dont know if the 5th gen is the same as the 6th gen, but the speed governer is in the speedo, you can buy a de-limiter of e-bay for not alot of $$$, it wires into the back of the speedo in about 2 mins. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10428&item=4545786377&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Abit more pricy than usual but I`m sure you could find cheaper with a bit of looking around. 91 Celica St 04-27-2005, 11:22 AM meh thats about 100 with shipping, id rather just spend the extra $250 and get my whole ecu re chipped :) but for the poor college students like myself i guess taht wouldnt be so bad 90celi-lover 04-29-2005, 03:42 PM thanks for the help guys. how many miles are on your st 91celicaST? i am thinking i want to buy that ecu from you but im also kinda broke.. plus i dont know if ill keep this celica much longer with 145,000 miles :22yikes: its getting up there in age 91 Celica St 05-02-2005, 12:34 PM mine ahs about 153,000 now... u might wanna hurry this guy with a corolla wants it really bad so yea grrr my st is fucking p though i was chasing a hach on the highway goin like 115 in 4rth and it got all fucked up. i havnt checked it out but it sounds like bad news its misfiering hela bad :( vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
