expected behaviorvwsmp 04-24-2005, 10:40 PM i dont mean any disresepct and this may sound like im shooting myself in the foot but if a newbie cant take the heat then what is he/she doing here. im not saying that they should be hazed but its expected to get at least a little trouble when youre the new guy. and again im not trying to cause trouble, i just think it should be said. sidewayzS13 04-24-2005, 10:43 PM of course the new guy should get shit like in a fraternity you haze the new guys it should be common practice Chuki_breath 04-24-2005, 11:00 PM well it depends, cuz there are noobs then there are NOOBS. If someone comes on here and has owned alot of 240's and done all types of swaps and work and wtf ever else he would still be a noob to the forum yes but not a noob to 240s. Now NOOBS are the people who come on here with no 240(not saying if you dont own a 240 your a noob) and rant about all the damn shit they want and dream of. But all the shit they want and dream of is so far fetched and will never happen for them. I think you guys know what i mean. There are people on here with no 240's but i dont consider them noobs cuz they have common sense of the shit. But there are some prime examples of what im talking about. Like the gay skyline thread down the board. That is noobish. No personal effort in research was done, just post and dream......that is when guys get flamed. D-Bo 04-25-2005, 12:16 AM we used to get pretty bad in here.. thats why they posted it.. apparently there was only "light moderation" but i agree completely with chuki Hypsi87 04-25-2005, 01:14 PM This is a forum for people who like anything automotive. A place where we can all get/give help. Also a place where we can discuss car related stories, events, and races. This is not a Frat house guys. There is no need to "Haze" a new member What is is going to accomplish? Do you think that it is going to establish your "internet rank" on these forums? nope. P.S. I want to thank D-bo for handling his ban professionally and getting ahold of me to talk about it instead of getting ahold of me and calling me everything but a white boy :icon16: . I would of lifted the ban sooner but I had some other things to attend to. bz month getting the Grand National ready for race season. :smokin: 240SXSlideStar 04-25-2005, 02:22 PM I would just like to point out that it's give/get, not get/get, I haven't been here long, but it seems that there are a few people who come on here and only ask questions that they could get the answer to with 5 minutes of google research, or they ask an inane question like "which engine is the best?", these are the people that cause problems. They contribute nothing to the forum. orestes 04-25-2005, 02:52 PM This is not a Frat house guys. There is no need to "Haze" a new member yeah thats what he said..... im not saying that they should be hazed J SPEC SilEighty 04-25-2005, 10:17 PM http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=400693 Prime example of someone that needs some damn sense knocked into them. Seriously, I want to know why they think it's a good idea to post a question about getting stickers made in a 240SX FORUM I've given people shit on here plenty in the past, but like what has already been said, it's only been when it was "called for". People come on here asking stupid shit like "What's the max HP I can get out of a CA18?".... Come on now, how is anybody going to give an answer to that? Or the many "What engine is better" threads. If someone is asking a serious question that they really need to know the answer to and obviously can't find it with a simple google search, then there would of course be no reason for him to get flamed. Some people just deserve it though. sidewayzS13 04-26-2005, 12:49 AM get em j spec Hypsi87 04-26-2005, 01:12 AM http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=400693 Prime example of someone that needs some damn sense knocked into them. You know the people who put up thoes threads are doing that on purpouse. bottom line is that automotiveforums.com has user guidelines... If you can't follow them your out. Simple as that. Also.. and I have said this before..... IT'S A DAMN MESSAGE BOARD not a search engine, yes it would be nice if everyone just searched for everything but, people join forums to post not to search. sidewayzS13 04-26-2005, 01:23 AM lets call it a message engine J SPEC SilEighty 04-26-2005, 01:37 AM simple if it bugs you that much, don't post in the thread... Whoa there Christopher Reeves, don't fall off that high horse! 240SXSlideStar 04-26-2005, 02:18 AM They can search on google before posting! Wow, SlideStar, that's a great idea! Thank you, thank you. sidewayzS13 04-26-2005, 03:05 AM Whoa there Christopher Reeves, don't fall off that high horse! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahaha hahahahahahhahahahahah sidewayzS13 04-26-2005, 03:07 AM thats funny ur going to hell for that kinda like how im going to hell because i once said that i was hungrier then terri shivo orestes 04-26-2005, 04:05 AM LOL nice!....bringing in the Terri Schiavo joke. i love it. sidewayzS13 04-26-2005, 04:18 AM yea when i said that i knew i was going to hell. but it was perfect timing in the conversation i used it in Hypsi87 04-26-2005, 08:31 AM Whoa there Christopher Reeves, don't fall off that high horse! keep it up. :nono: SleeperS13 04-27-2005, 08:10 PM What's up everyone. Why not just refer these kooks to the Newbie Primer? Isn't that what it's there for? Just don't answer questions you feel aren't worthy of your time. If that's not effective enough, then maybe read the primer yourself and add what you think might help instead of following the examples of the fratties. It's totally true that they do they haze in a sadistic, latently homosexual manner, but to their credit they also use the group dynamic to help get things accomplished. (whether passing around answers to tests can be considered accomplishment is for you to decide.) nissanfanatic 04-27-2005, 08:34 PM It simple really, if it isn't in the FAQ, and you can't find an answer using a search, then you can ask it. D-Bo 04-27-2005, 09:31 PM exactly. thats what a human being with common sense would do, but not all human beings that come on here have common sense.. nissanfanatic 04-27-2005, 10:01 PM Why should they be exceptions? D-Bo 04-28-2005, 12:10 AM you know very well that the newbs that come on and had done no research or made no attempts to find an answer themselves are extremely annoying and its frustrating when you know the answer yourself and you know that they could have found it quite easily themselves. i'm also a little short tempered when it comes to people who have competence but don't take advantage of it. maybe its just me. i just get really frustrated with people who dont try to do things for themselves orestes 04-28-2005, 03:22 AM i dont have that big a problem with most of them and try to post helpful posts but seriously sometime the answer is so obvious or the question itself is just so R E T A R T E D that you are amazed/shocked. sometimes theres people that honestly are trying to get some point across but typing for the first time in English but only speaking some other language and you totally cant make sense of it but people still try to flame them and thats always funny i think. so we shouldnt be too hard on those who choose to brutally flame the crazy Koreans and Russians or whoever that come in here, of course with the most vulgar possible personal insults. (in my opinion) because hey, theyre not gonna understand it or take any offense, right? sidewayzS13 04-28-2005, 06:08 AM homosexual manner? sounds like u have experienced ass rape first hand sleeper? sidewayzS13 04-28-2005, 06:09 AM or are you more of a giver perhaps? twitch24 04-28-2005, 01:29 PM sidewayzS13 [sm_search.gif] homosexual manner? sounds like u have experienced ass rape first hand sleeper? or are you more of a giver perhaps? weird, thats all i have to say sidewayzS13 04-28-2005, 05:20 PM he brought that on himself SleeperS13 04-28-2005, 09:57 PM Nah. Just what I've heard from friends of mine who entered the "Greek Society" at the local university. All of whom probably would have been better off without the 3 years in the frat. And I said latently. But the meaning of that word probably escapes you, Mr. Ass-Plowing Avatar, Mighty Keeper of the Flame. I did bring that on though.
