What's your connection?ci5ic 04-24-2005, 02:36 PM What are you connected with? Damien 04-24-2005, 02:49 PM I was wonderin' what this thread was about then the poll showed up. I was about to give away all my connections too. That was a close one. clawhammer 04-24-2005, 03:33 PM 4mbits/sec download with comcast cable. uranium235powered 04-24-2005, 03:41 PM I'm connected with 56k. Fastest download I ever had was 15kbps. Sometimes I just want to remove the testicles of people who post an insane amount of images on the internet without a 56k warning. Luckily, my laptop is fast enough not to fuck up...just takes a fucking long time to download stuff. I'm actually on Roger's Ultralite Cable plan, but performance is similar to dial-up. Its REALLY slow compared to what I am used to, because back in Hong Kong I used to download files at speeds over 2.7 mbps. Sucks ass :( TaNK_Em 04-24-2005, 04:12 PM 56k, Connect at 50.6KBS down here and upstairs on my phone line with the newer modem about 52KBS. DSL and Cable are available but I feel no need to pay the same amount of money for one month of dsl that covers 3 months of my unlimited dialup. - Kevin crayzayjay 04-24-2005, 04:23 PM I've had DSL for about 6 months now. I honestly don't know how i used to get by with 56k. Unbelievably slow compared to this. TexasF355F1 04-24-2005, 04:55 PM Cable for me Gotti 04-24-2005, 05:33 PM Cable... i couldnt live with a dial-up, i dont know how people do it All i pay for is the cable internet, and i get cable TV for free, my friend hooked me up, so i get 73 channels for free as long as i'm paying for cable internet service uranium235powered 04-24-2005, 05:59 PM i couldnt live with a dial-up, i dont know how people do it I'm barely alive. God-damn parents won't upgrade my internet cause I have no use for it. I download a shitload of movies....I've probably seen every movie out there ever since the start of 2005 just by downloading. And I'm not allowed to fucking work either. Sometimes my WiFi card is faster, but it keeps on breaking up because I'm just stealing connection from another person. BrodyP 04-24-2005, 06:01 PM 5 up 5 down cable Toksin 04-24-2005, 06:02 PM Honestly hav eno idea. Think it's T1 or higher. University LAN. Quickshift 04-24-2005, 07:19 PM cable today Dsl in a few days. tman 04-24-2005, 07:50 PM Cable, 3mbps Browser: Opera Email: Mozilla Thunderbird Phieta 04-24-2005, 07:50 PM 1.5kbps ADSL from SBC-Yahoo (was good when it was Pacbell, got worse when SBC bought them, sucked ass after the Yahoo thing). Shared between four computers... WiFi for three of them, including mine. ac427cpe 04-24-2005, 08:41 PM home: crappy dialup for one more week... school: T4 lanline or something... REALLY REALLY FAST.... like, you start downloading a car movie, and the screen catches on fire. sivic02 04-24-2005, 08:47 PM I dont have an internet connection. I have a small mouse named Frank. What I do is I write my message on a piece of paper, tie it to Frank, Frank runs to my friends house where my friend types the message and posts it up for me. So its about 2mbps....seriously... Franks a badass... http://www.funofun.com/images/funnypics/mouse_workout.jpg I will just put down DSL though... YogsVR4 04-24-2005, 10:45 PM Cable - 5 meg '97ventureowner 04-24-2005, 11:34 PM 31.2 kbps dial up. Can you say S-L-O-W? ( at least it's quicker than when I had AOL, sometimes I would only connect at 7kbps LOL) I'm stuck with dial-up for now, living in a rural area there is no cable, and I'm one of the farthest houses from my telephone switching station, making DSL not worth it. Satelite internet is too expensive. I may have some luck in the next few years as my phone company (Verizon) is laying new fiber optic cable in the area to start up new cable and internet services. The next town over just started a new internet service over the electric lines with DSL speeds for only $25/mo. I guess this is a relatively new type of technology. This town has their own electric company separate from the power company that services the area, and their electric rates are 1/4 of the rates we pay. carnut 04-24-2005, 11:40 PM Slow motion Verizon DSL, only marginally faster than 56kb dial up connection. I found a free dial up service as a back up, no banners, ads, etc. Jimster 04-25-2005, 06:33 AM I've had DSL for about 6 months now. I honestly don't know how i used to get by with 56k. Unbelievably slow compared to this. Oh trust me, 56k is fine when you aren't desperately strolling the web for midget porn. :p I have DSL. crayzayjay 04-25-2005, 07:57 AM Oh trust me, 56k is fine when you aren't desperately strolling the web for midget porn. :p But when AREN'T I strolling the web for midget porn? :icon16: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
