putty vs primer?!

whats going on in this pic?! Is my primer not liking the putty? that part is smooth as glass but it looks like chunks are missing help me please its been happening with all of my putty cake builds.

I can't see what your talking about in the pics but it sounds like the putty is shrinking or the primer your using isn't holding back the solvents in the paint your using.

How do you mean chunks are missing? The blurry pic doesn't show anything amiss. Is it simply fisheyes or something like the primer flaking off?

Its hard to tell, whats going in but what may be your problem is ghost lines. The plastics absorbs paint where as the putty doesnt, therefore the plastic expands just enough to see swirls, ghost lines, etc. The putty should be feathered out more, or switch to a different primer.

mike thats what willimo told me. should i use a sealer primer then a sandble primer? and no chunks are missing that part is perfectly smooth it just looks like chunks are missing. sorry about the blurry pic but i cant do anything about it now ive already put more putty on it to fill in more improfections.

Something like DuPont variprime, which is a sealer primer. Cobra Colors has some VX primer thats like a sealer primer as well.

Plastic Paddings Sandable primer also works for "removing" ghostlines . And it takes your average touch-up spraycans without trouble!

itll cost more than the can of paint to ship it over here :lol2: thanks man but i dont think ill be doin that anytime soon ill just find some sealer primer ill start spraying before hand.
