Hello. It could be a bad wheel bearing,Or maby axel shaft could be going bad? Jack up the right side of car and grab the right front wheel,And see if there is any "slop" in it.Try to move up and down, side to side. Also while you have off the ground,Check the tie rod ends and lower ball joint.Good Luck!! Also, check the power steering fluid, I have no clue where the pickup is, but it may be sloshing away from it.

Most importantly, I'd say its the starter. I know, thats an obscure part to do this. A starter has a sprocket that shoots out and makes contact with the flywheel, then spins, starting the motor. When the spring, or whatever inside that keeps the mechanism retracted fails, on a right turn, it can make a clicking noise, causing the noise you say you hear. If its not really a grinding noise, but more of a click, I'd get that starter replaced.

It could be the powersteering pump or a CV Joint also. A moaning sound would indicate the powersteering pump and a clicking sound would indicate a CV joint.

I have a 1998 park ave ultra and mine does the same thing it is a vibration while turning right and when accelerating through the turn, it could be the cv joint or bearing but there is no clicking sound just a vibration

well johndoe, who ever breaks first let the other one know what it was. My buddy says he thinks it's the driverside wheel bearing, another guy said the motor mounts were weak.It only has 107K on the car.Could it be the magnasteer? This is my first front wheel drive i've ever owned, not to mention a luxury car so I'm in the dark somewhat.I drive 120 miles a day on the highway to work,no stopping or turning much,so I'm hoping it won't get worst. How many miles does yours have on it,& how long has it been making that noise?Thx to everyone else for your input, love the site, tom

I got it 3 months ago with 67,000 miles and I just noticed it because I was testing out my traction control and I made a right turn and thats when it happened. When I first got the car the Super Charger had to be replaced by the dealer no charge to me but I purchased a extended warranty, but I will see if what ever it is, is covered (1998 Black Ultra PA Tan INT.with only 67,000 miles)

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but i figured i'd throw in my 2 cents.

I had a similar problem when I got my 89 park avenue. Steering groaned whenever i used it. The place that changed my oil and fluids filled up my power steering fluid, and suggested that there might be a leak in the hose. The problem dissapeared immediately with the addition of the steering fluid (the cap for it is located in the upper left when you are looking down from the top of the hood.)

About 2 weeks ago I got the problem again (I had driven about 1000 miles since I got the car). I filled up the steering fluid and it again disappeared.

Anyway, I would suggest adding power steering fluid.
