Help- outside Right mirrorBamaRodeo 04-21-2005, 05:56 PM On my way home from work today, the right outside mirror decided to start waving at everyone. Luckily, I was able to stop on the side of the road before it came off. I just paid $163 for new new one (on order). Can someone point me to some instructions (with pics) that will help me install it myself????? I dont even want to think about how much I'd have to pay to have it installed. Btw- my Rodeo is year 1999. ThankS! Cat Fuzz 04-21-2005, 09:56 PM I'm sure you'll have the remove the interior door panel and there will be some bolts holding the mirror on from inside the door. surferfletch 04-21-2005, 10:16 PM Super easy. Pop off the inner triangular piece of plastic trim. Unbolt the old one. Bolt up the new one. Snap trim back on. If you have a power mirror, there's an additional step of unplugging the harness an plugging in the new one. I hope I remembered it right... My wife broke my driver's side power mirror off (grounds for divorce in most states), and it would have been $550 or some outrageous price for a new one. Junkyard hookup and my labor: $125. surferfletch 04-21-2005, 10:17 PM I have a '97... surferfletch 04-21-2005, 11:29 PM And there's a speaker harness you have to disconnect...just unplug/replug. amigo-2k 04-21-2005, 11:31 PM cancel your order and buy a used one: www.car-parts.com BamaRodeo 04-22-2005, 12:07 AM cancel your order and buy a used one: www.car-parts.com (http://www.car-parts.com) Thank you- Thank you for the website! I'm cancelling my order tomorrow... It's a manual side mirror, and it looks like it'll be easy to replace myself.. (and I wont even chip a nail):p Is a flat head screw driver the best device to use to pop off the inside plastic piece? surferfletch 04-22-2005, 07:34 PM Just be gentle. I know I didn't use anything special... And there's no speaker there, right? BamaRodeo 04-23-2005, 06:48 PM Just be gentle. I know I didn't use anything special... And there's no speaker there, right? No speaker... the mirror is attached at a triangle between the window and the door. I suppose if I muck up the plastic thingy, I could order one from the site that amigo gave me. btw- I found a used replacement mirro for $75. Saved me $100.. yippee. surferfletch 04-23-2005, 10:42 PM Excellent. These forums are invaluable. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
