anyone ever have problems with AIWA mp3 player skipping?Darkwing 04-05-2002, 11:10 PM Mine does it only with burned CD-Rs with .mp3 files. At rest. no car moving. It plays, stops, plays some more, stops, etc.... What's going on? I was so damned excited about this thing and now I get this!!! After I spent 3.5 hours installing it myself. (I installed Sony Xplod speakers too). I am so mad I could spit!! Please help! igo4bmx 04-05-2002, 11:15 PM you should spit then... I would return it where you bought it.... save your money and get a good deck... kenwood has a nice mp3 playing head unit and so does clarion... i've had two clarions and one pioneer... the pioneer fell apart on me (display flickered) but the two clarion were built to last. piscorpio 04-05-2002, 11:39 PM My only experience with Aiwa products is their shelf stereo CD changer units. So far, I have seen people go through three or four of them, with all of them breaking within a year or two. Ive seen enough not to trust any Aiwa products from this day on, they seem very low quality. This is just my personal input, you may or may not feel the same, and the problem may have some remedy, I don't know... petzride 04-06-2002, 12:32 AM Why did u purchase aiwa? My friend had it and it was sucks.... My Sony head unit plays burned CDs just fine, and it's not a mp3 player. U actually don't need a mp3 player cuz I think it's wastin money. Sorry if I sound a bit snappy, but I'm in a foul mood. Maybe I outa go chill tonight and come back tomarrow to discuss it. onesojourner 04-06-2002, 01:37 AM hye man i tried to warn you not to buy the cheapest mp3 player you can find but you didnt listen. any ways if you can send it back i would. and i have i pioneer its great never a problem. and mp3 waist of money ya right they are awesome you put in one cd put random on for the whole cd and you can listen to that thing for 3 weeks. and you get song info and stuff. bye the way does your iawa do that i wasnt sure Darkwing 04-06-2002, 12:53 PM yeah mine does that. And I'm fixing to shove a big one in y'alls faces. Here goes: I did RESEARCH into all of my stuff. I emailed people, read every scrap of paper that came with the thing, read a bunch of chit about my cd-burning software and I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM!!!! My HU does not support packet-writing software, which enables faster writing, but breaks sons up into chunks. That is why my CDs have been skipping. All I have to do is download a CD-burning software program that doesn't use packet-writing but still uses ISO 9660 format. So... IN YOUR FACES!!!! :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: and you would have me send it back, tell me I bought crap, and make me feel like shit. All in your faces. igo4bmx 04-06-2002, 01:06 PM you still bought crap....j/p piscorpio 04-06-2002, 04:22 PM Don't speak too soon...you did just buy the thing. You may have jinxed yourself! :D igo4bmx 04-06-2002, 05:49 PM Originally posted by Darkwing My HU does not support packet-writing software, which enables faster writing, but breaks sons up into chunks. So... so if you download music.... do you have to convert it back into wav and then rip it into mp3 format? how would you go about just plaing music off the internet swedish 04-06-2002, 05:54 PM none the less, i have a pioneer deck that is not a mp3 deck, and i use cdcreator, which cuts it into blocks, and everything works fine(as i type shit fucks up probably). markpa 04-06-2002, 10:24 PM I think its crap, u should of got either a sony or panasonic mp3, u get what u pay for. Darkwing 04-07-2002, 01:44 AM Originally posted by igo4bmx so if you download music.... do you have to convert it back into wav and then rip it into mp3 format? how would you go about just plaing music off the internet no, I can just d/l it off the internet and burn it straight to the CD. I d/led Nero off the internet, and it works great. I still need to figure some things out, but point is that it does play .mp3s the way its supposed to, and it plays them beautifully. AIWA may not be the best, but when you been listening to FM radio and cassesttes for over 2 yrs, it sounds oh so good. Plus the Sony speakers are extremely good. They handle ANYTHING the HU puts out with grace and clarity. I highly recommend them. If you want a better HU then I got, prepare to shell out $400 or so. Personally, I can't justify it. But then again some people value their ICE as top priority, whereas I just think a decent system is all you need. And decent I got. ps- sorry for going off on you guys like that, I was in a real bad mood, you now how it is. I sure hope I didn't jinx myself!! lol, I didn't expect anyone to like what I got anyways, you guys don't like any of my stuff anywho. But that just makes me happy anyways, cuz that means I am different. and nowadays, different can be a good thing. pps- you consider my car rice or just plain old everyday crap? (or even decent, I know what a shocking idea!!) again, sorry for the outburst. I like what I got, even if it was a hastle, its fixed now, and its all good with me. onesojourner 04-08-2002, 05:32 PM i got my pioneer for 285 shipped second day air. im sick of telling about it but its alot nicer than iawas hu. any ways ya man your car is cool all i can see is two pics though. not real crazy about the wing though its to tall. What Pioneer mp3 deck do you own? I am going to be buying one soon and selling my Pioneer 8000. I have to go up to the shops tommorrow after I make an mp3 disc. I went to 3 shops and none have a sample mp3 disc  ....NO WAY in hell will I buy one until I see the display and how it reads. My 8000 will NOT scroll. Whatever fits on the screen is what you see :bloated: I am considering the 7400 which I saw for $350 (sure I can get it cheaper off the net) ...the 8400 is $500 >>> may even consider it after I see the displays tomm. And then their is Rockford Fosgate! The mom and pops shop wanted $350 for a RFX9110 and $200 on a closeout for a RFX9200 I must have: 1) Wireless Remote 2) Subwoofer output 3) Would also like to have the option to skip to any track by inputting the track # using the remote :flipa: Thanks for any input! boingo82 06-11-2002, 09:23 PM I paid $240 for a Kenwood MP3/CD player w/ preamp outs, etc. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uiySVv2bYtU/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=113MPV7019&s=0 I've been happy with it. It hasn't skipped so far, and navigating mp3 folders is easy. I have heard bad stuff about Aiwa, but if you're not having problems with it, all the more power to you. ex2fast4u 06-11-2002, 11:23 PM I work at bestbuy. Last year we had a 90 percent return rate due to skipping and other defects. DONT BUY AIWA!!!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
