Anyone care for some MUGEN?mrceej 04-21-2005, 11:22 AM Rather than start an individual thread for each car, I thought I would sum it all up on one thread. As the topic states, my MUGEN build ups will be what this thread is all about. This will include the following: MUGEN Pro EA(?) MUGEN Pro 2 EF7 MUGEN Pro 3 EG2 MUGEN Ferio EG9 MUGEN Orthia EL3 MUGEN Civic SiR EG6 MUGEN Civic SiR EK4 MUGEN Civic Type R EK9 MUGEN Integra Type R DC2 Future projects may also include an Accord and a Prelude but for now, I'll stick to these since I already have these in progress. I'll see if I can post some updated pics this weekend so these old teaser shots will have to do for now. http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3467/377Dscn0407-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3467/377Dscn0410-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/500/377Mugen_Orthia_2-med.JPG http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/500/377Mugen_Orthia_4-med.JPG http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/500/377mugen_preview_1-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/500/377mugen_preview_2-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/500/377first_set_mugen-med.jpg SupaMan89T 04-21-2005, 11:23 AM lookin great man! willimo 04-21-2005, 12:36 PM Alright! You know I love mugen! :D in the last pictures, are those resin cast RNR rims? I see that mugen integra in the background. That front bumper is a pain to work with! I'm also planning the same thing but only with: Civic EG Civic EK Accord CD7 Integra DC2 mrceej 04-22-2005, 10:18 AM Cool! Maybe we should start a MUGEN meet under the honda section? The last picture was my first attempt at replicating wheels. With the help Andy (MPWR on this forum), I've been able to get a whole lot better at replicating parts. There is whole lot I'm working on right now. Even though I don't have the pics to post, I just finished stripping the paint off of the EF7. Now I'm going to have to clean up the body a little bit. mrceej 04-22-2005, 10:21 AM Yo Josh- I just read your signature, are you local to SD? I met Glen and Jay at one of the local meets and I used to be on the ClubEK forum. As for the wheels, they are in the process of being made. Joeham (ImolaEK) has first dibs though. I have been having problems making new molds and I'm running out of the RTV mold materials. Anything specific you are looking for? PM me. Feint Motion 04-22-2005, 06:52 PM Yo Josh- I just read your signature, are you local to SD? I met Glen and Jay at one of the local meets and I used to be on the ClubEK forum. Anything specific you are looking for? PM me. Yea, I just met this guy at JDMShit (Store located in Upland) He gave me their site, pretty good stuff. :sunglasse Im in SB/Riverside area, Im just waiting on the next meet in riverside, so I can see what my ferio is made of. (not much) Im not looking for any specific wheel yet, If i need anything, I'll be sure to give you a PM. Damn you Joeham! :grinno: DJPaul 04-22-2005, 07:03 PM Nice, can't wait to c more mrceej 04-25-2005, 10:30 AM Hey Josh, there is a meet coming up this weekend on MAY 1st. It's being hosted by EIBACH at their facilities. You down to roll to that? VTEC-DA9 04-25-2005, 11:26 AM mrceej: I'll see you guys there if you're rolling to the Eibach meet mrceej 04-25-2005, 11:37 AM Alright Tri!!! Cool, tell you what, I'll pack some model junk in the back of my car to show you what I'm working on. I'll PM you my number. SupaMan89T 04-25-2005, 12:51 PM damn not havin a car id drive from fl to cali and hit that show up! mrceej 04-25-2005, 01:44 PM Are you down Barry?!! :smokin: Quick update: Got some pics uploaded. Here's the beginnings of the restoration of the MUGEN Integra Type R (DC2). Here's the first picture after the paint had been stripped: http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3630/749Dscn11401-med.jpg And then I cleaned it up a bit and put on the first couple of coats of white primer and the wrong white paint: http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3630/749Dscn11471-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3630/749Dscn11501-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3630/749Dscn11491-med.jpg I say the wrong paint because I had mistakenly grabbed the white paint intended for RC car shells (Polycarbonite). Amazingly, the paint didn't turn out too bad but I will take no chances. I'll sand it down and repaint it again. Good thing was that I only put on one light coat of that paint. ImolaEK 04-25-2005, 04:19 PM NICE!!! Argh! I wish i could work on my Mugen DC2! :( Its coming out sweeet! mrceej 04-25-2005, 04:45 PM Thanks Joeham! I'm sure you can appreciate the next one, my Ferio: http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Dscn1134-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Dscn1135-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Dscn1136-med.jpg I had to scratch fabricate the front because I cut everything out. A couple of years ago, I attempted to fabricate a Veilside front end. Now, I'm changing it up to MUGEN status. ImolaEK 04-25-2005, 04:53 PM Whoa! Nice save;) How many ferio kits do you have! mrceej 04-25-2005, 04:56 PM Just a couple. The Jaccs one will be going in the DOT3 tank soon. I recently found some good reference pics to use in addition to the decals you had sent me. I'm going to be bold though, I'm going to try and paint the rasta scheme it has!! Wish me luck on that one!! LOL I'll need it!! mrceej 04-25-2005, 04:57 PM Actually 3 now, the PIAA Civic should be on it's way from overseas. Ooooweee, thank you EBAY!! ImolaEK 04-25-2005, 05:06 PM Actually 3 now, the PIAA Civic should be on it's way from overseas. Ooooweee, thank you EBAY!! Nicely;) Good luck on the JACCS Ferio:) ImolaEK 04-25-2005, 05:09 PM Hey, Hows this for a hard to find kit:) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2583&item=5971631461&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Or this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2581&item=5971080564&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW mrceej 04-25-2005, 05:17 PM Oh crap!! I want that hatch!! I'm going to have to ask my buddy to through a bid for me. He's probably pissed because I always ask him to do that for me. Of course I pay him cash for everything. Porsche Carrera 04-25-2005, 05:34 PM my gawd cj! nice job on the teg's front clip. wish i can find a mugen teg, though it seems harder to find it now a days. argh! what mugen kit do you have in mind for the ferio? the subtle lip treatment?! mrceej 04-25-2005, 05:44 PM Correct!!! http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Dscn1139-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Dscn1138-med.jpg I was able to find an original advertisement for the MUGEN parts for a few of the older cars (Including my 1:1 EF3 hatch!!!). That's what I'm using as my reference. I don't think there is any other type of authentic MUGEN kit for the Ferio or EG6 but there are a few different styles for the EK body. Pretty simple style for EG body. ImolaEK 04-25-2005, 05:59 PM mrceej 04-25-2005, 06:09 PM ^^ And there you have it. The real deal hollyfield ^^ Feint Motion 04-25-2005, 06:24 PM Hey Josh, there is a meet coming up this weekend on MAY 1st. It's being hosted by EIBACH at their facilities. You down to roll to that? Ah shit, I dont think I can make it next week. I gota work all weekend! Mabe next month. Im doin a bunch of overtime so I can get my car boosted :smokin: mrceej 04-25-2005, 06:27 PM Ah, that's cool. Next time. Gotta admit, boost or no boost, gotta earn the paycheck before anything else. SupaMan89T 04-25-2005, 08:04 PM yea id be down if i had a car cj  lookin good man like the lip on the ferio mrceej 04-28-2005, 12:50 PM SupaMan89T 04-28-2005, 02:28 PM lookin pimp man id roll it and i dont even like hondas! mrceej 04-28-2005, 02:31 PM LOL!! I know! I have succeeded if YOU like it! But that last picture is of a mid 80's CRX so it wins in 2 categories for me, MUGEN and 80's!! ImolaEK 04-28-2005, 06:52 PM mrceej 10-05-2005, 05:43 PM Hey wassup everybody. It's been months since I've posted on here. Life is complicated sometimes but we always manage to get through the tough times. Now that things have settled down a bit, I got back to my models. Here's a glimpse of what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks: http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Mugen_Ferio_Painted_2-med.jpg http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Mugen_Ferio_Painted_3-med.jpg I noticed that most of the old links don't work anymore so I'll try to fix those as soon as I can. Peace out...for now. SupaMan89T 10-05-2005, 05:55 PM YO MAN! long time no see how is shit goin!? i hope everything is aight bro!@ mrceej 10-05-2005, 05:59 PM Thanks man, things are cool. Finally got settled into my new job, got my butt back in school, on my way to getting a degree. It's tough though, 9.5 hour shifts then 4 hour class directly afterwards. I barely eat!! LOL!!! Except on the weekends, I just chill out and work on the never ending supply of projects in my room. How are you doing bro? I tried emailing you recently. ImolaEK 10-05-2005, 06:33 PM nice to see new pics and hear from you:) Looks sweet:) mrceej 10-05-2005, 06:52 PM Hey Joeham! Thanks man! I didn't realize how similar both of our models are. I'm replicating my sisters car (except she doesn't have the mugen kit). Funny things is she used to have rims similar to the rims you have on your model!! LOL If the color were just a little bit lighter, your model would be a better replica of her car than mine!! D_LaMz 10-05-2005, 07:01 PM Nice to see you back! mrceej 10-05-2005, 07:03 PM Thanks bro! It's good to be back. I have more models to share with you guys. You'll see them posted in the next few weeks. The Ferio should be finished really soon. Got some new stuff to try out on it also. mrceej 10-06-2005, 02:40 PM ImolaEK 10-07-2005, 09:15 AM Niceee:) Can you go any lower:P Just kidding:) mrceej 10-07-2005, 10:35 AM LOL!! It's actually sitting on the chassis to one of my hatches and I wanted that hatch SLAMMED!!! Some bad news, I thought I put enough clear but unfortuanately I sanded through so I'm trying to save the paint job. 2JZAsupra 10-08-2005, 07:29 PM hey man nice color on that civ... what color is that? cuz i painted mine almost the same color but its a little lighter. mrceej 10-10-2005, 11:04 AM Thanks, it's Burgundy Red Metallic by Model Master with Tamiya Clear. mrceej 10-11-2005, 05:39 PM I did some work on a few models last night. I thought I would be done with the ferio sometime this week but over the weekend I sanded through the clear. So I resprayed the color again. http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Picture_039-med.jpg I was trying to finish out the Ferio model but after I wet sanded it and started to spray the clear coat, it wrinkled on about 25% of the body. I tried to salvage the paint job, but ultimately failed. So, this one is going back into the DOT 3 tank. In the mean time, I'll be working on this: http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3629/749Picture_038-med.jpg 24chromes 10-11-2005, 05:44 PM pretty sweet i would change the rims and do u ahve msn or aim mrceej 10-11-2005, 05:48 PM thanks, sorry though, i don't have msn/aim. u can always reach me at cj.morales@gmail.com. i check that frequently. as for the rims, i'm not decided on what will go on what but they are mugen wheels so they do fit the theme. stupid Ferio model...why won't they come out right the first time? something very familiar about this...(right ImolaEK?) blueboost 10-11-2005, 05:48 PM good work! chyknees 10-11-2005, 07:05 PM loving it all. Did you do the bumper on the del sol yourself? If so, very impressive. mrceej 10-11-2005, 07:59 PM Thanks! And Yes! It is made from styrene and putty (as are the sideskirts) but it's still in progress. The CRX/Del Sol should be ready for paint by the weekend. Hopefully, it won't be stubborn like the Ferio. ImolaEK 10-12-2005, 05:11 PM thanks, sorry though, i don't have msn/aim. u can always reach me at cj.morales@gmail.com. i check that frequently. as for the rims, i'm not decided on what will go on what but they are mugen wheels so they do fit the theme. stupid Ferio model...why won't they come out right the first time? something very familiar about this...(right ImolaEK?) Yes, ferio's are stubborn:lol: Those Mugen RNR's:( My long lifetime dream! :(You need to fill me on those bro:thumbsup: mrceej 10-12-2005, 05:34 PM Those Mugen RNR's:( My long lifetime dream! :(You need to fill me on those bro:thumbsup: Be patient, it's been a while but when I say "soon" I mean SOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!! JDM Wagon 10-16-2005, 10:40 AM your mugen's are nice but you forgot one. the mugen accord wagon. mrceej 10-17-2005, 10:42 AM your mugen's are nice but you forgot one. the mugen accord wagon. I know, me and my buddy have been looking for that one for years!! That would be a nice one to have. I guess I can just pick up one of the other versions and scratch fabricate the kit. Oh well, that'll be much much later. JDM Wagon 10-18-2005, 11:28 AM i have one. fortunately i found one in a small hobby shop in kyushu japan, but have not seen one since. mugenhb 10-20-2005, 04:52 PM I love mugen those kits are coming along nicely chyknees 01-28-2006, 03:03 AM any updates mrceej?? very curious to see how they are coming along :) mrceej 01-31-2006, 06:19 PM i'm shocked!! someone remembered this thread!! i haven't been working on many of the hondas in my collection lately. anything in particular you wanna see? the mugen ITR is ready for paint, the ferio is bent out of shape (literally), delsol needs clean up on the bumper, and i'm starting over on the EK4. in fact, most of my collection is waiting for the DOT 3 bath. after learning better techniques from you guys, i decided to redo alot of my models. let me know what you want to see and i'll concentrate on completing that one model this weekend just for you. chyknees 01-31-2006, 06:22 PM hahaha...cool. ya, i always check this thread to see updates. i'm real anxious to see your mugen itr. I'm tempted to start work on my mugen itr, but not quite yet. Take your time....i'm sure they'll come out great. Did you mold the mugen bumper to the itr or just place it over it? mrceej 01-31-2006, 07:00 PM i actually cut the stock bumper off and trimmed the top of the mugen bumper to line up the way i wanted it to. it still isn't 100% accurate but it's definitely better than before. i did it by the instructions originally and molded the corners. then i realized that not only did it not look right, it would be very difficult to put the headlight lenses on. i'll get that one painted tomorrow. check this again towards the weekend. and thanks for the support! chyknees 01-31-2006, 08:07 PM nice. ya, thats what i was planning on doing too. cutting the stock bumper off and sticking the mugen one. can't wait to see the progress...for sure i'll check back later. mrceej 03-26-2006, 10:58 PM Sorry for the lack of progress, I get sidetracked easily. Here's something that I have been working on for a couple of days. I'm very pleased with it so far. Enjoy the teaser... http://www.hdpixel.com/gallery/data/3854/tamiya_mugen_accord_transkit_005.jpg chyknees 03-27-2006, 05:19 AM you should also do a transkit for the mugen crx :) hahah. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
