my mechanic that loaned the tools for the rear calipers told me that she is safe to drive to florida friday!!!!

Everytime I read a post by Tara, I try to think of it with a heavy New York accent. Makes it more fun for me I guess. But congradulations. Next thing you know you'll be telling us how stupid all the mechanics in your area really are because they told you a rear brake adjustment was $230. Nothing like taking care of your own business.

I had my first warranty problem last week with my new G. Front Mud guard flaked off about a 2"x2" patch of paint. Car had 600 miles on it. Went to my local dealer for warranty. He told me it was a mistake in the paint process, that it shouldn't have happened, and it will be easy to fix. When the question was raised as to whether or not they would cover it, he shook his head the wrong way. I called the Dealership I bought it from in Missouri. The service manager there said no problem. I told him of my dilemma with my service consultant. "Is he there? Let me speak to him." The "consultant" began to grill the Service Manager from the other dealership. "Really? And how long have you worked there?" He asks with a smug tone. In the background from the earpeice I hear "1993." The Manager from MO says "If it's a problem I'll send the parts out and we'll eat it." "Oh no, it's not a problem, I just have to look out for myself,...." As soon as he gets off of my phone, his tone goes back to "Well, if it wasn't a paint issue,....etc." Long story shortish. I had to call mack to Missouri, the parts are being shipped to me, The service manager told me to just put 'em on myself because it was too easy and it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with them again. I thought I was buying a new car so I didn't have to do alot of work on it. I guess it's a good thing I can. While, I'm getting my hands dirty, maybe I can find a nice cold air box.....

Oh, yeah,...I promised I wouldn't say where I got the number from, but someone gave me the infiniti customer relations line number to inform them of how I was treated by my local dealership. Hmmm,.... I love telling on people!

As long as it's fixed, I don't give much of a shit, but the fact that the little prick from the only Infiniti Dealer in the state wants to put his piddly rep on the line over customer satisfaction of a luxury car brand is pretty sad. Especially when a 12year shop manager from a better recognized dealership is telling him to do it and that he'll eat it if there's really a problem. That's dealerships for you. Go figure.

dealerships are usually out to screw you any way they can... if they're not required by law to do it, they won't... unless you're really lucky and get a good dealership

oh yeah, i had a run in with my Scion dealership last week... to be honest, i'm glad i have another car that has no warranty and i know im responsible for any repairs it may need..

home again... 3500 miles in 10 days!!! car ran like a champ, didnt like ac in so. fl. (thats what ttops are made for, but no room with a pit in the back)... I am sooooooo happy, but glad i have another car, since there is so much shit in the car after the past 72 hours of being on the road (nights over here and there of course)... I love my car... no didnt sell it, but offered it to my uncle for airfare... but the ride home seemed easier, i guess since i wasnt so worried about the car!!! ( and yes, I'm trashed again!!!!)
