The punishment for totaling a rare car like the Zonda is that you aren't allowed to buy another one. Same thing with McLaren and Bugatti. Owning one of these cars is a privilage, so you have to be careful. The Zonda (and F1 and Veyron and F60) are works of art, so if you destroy a work of art you're very unlikely to be sold another one. This is only a small chapter of exotic car politics.

that is a good rule. I think the same thing , if you destroy a work of art than you should be punished

The thread is titled "one less Zonda" doe that that Zonda does not have any repair/maintenance locations to get that car repaired because like you guys said it is sad to see such a work of art get destroyed like that so does any1 know if they have anything like what I mentioned?

At first I saw the rear damage, then I clicked on the link to the first image and fell out my car. I believe he/she needs to be removed from this world for what they have done.

So is there one less Zonda C12 in the world because of that guy who cant drive crashed it? That really pisses me off because people put alot of time and money into some of those cars and then for someone to do that its a shame (obviously not on purpose, I hope). Does any1 know how the guy crashed ad/or compensated for that car?

only certain companies wont let you buy another if you total one. Just people like Horacio Pagani have spent so much time and effort to perfectly craft each one that they (especially the emotional Italians) get kinda pissed off if someone ruins one of their masterpieces. Same as if someone crashed you're car, would you ever let them drive it again?

and as for that wreckedexotics site. some of those pictures make me feel sick. All the fantastic cars wasted. Worse still by the fact i think i know the guy who owned the burnt out F40 (wasnt his fault, the garage didnt do a service properly)

Still, If you bought the car, its *yours*, if you wreck it, the designer shouldn't care, they made a hefty profit last time they sold you one, and will make another hefty profit if they sell you another...

i know exactly what you mean, but they dont see it that way. the car is their masterpiece. Once you buy one of the very few made then you become part of the family. They do care about making money, but the cars are like children to the makers, and they cant stand to see one killed, and they dont give you a second chance to hurt their "children".

Supercars are not usually the safest things on the road, anyway. You'd think that after 5 wrecks, this guy would have bit the bullet by now. Maybe Pagani, etc. should screen people more carefully, i.e. ignore orders from anyone named Rasputin.

I have no idea where you peeps got the idea that if you totaled a car, the maker would not sell you another, but I suggest you put the crack pipe down ! LOL.

The person who crashed Zonda was the one who worked at the car dealer. This happened in Hong Kong

Sorry Sypder but after reading this article, it says the dealership employee is with the buyer to test drive the car but without mentioning who is the driver.
My information is from other news article and also from one of my dealership friend in Hong Kong.
Btw, these are actually greater pictures!! The guy in the middle of the second picture is the one crash the car.

Uh... guys you forgettin that you can get it repaired by a specialist? i mean. i know that the zonda is in my opinion the greatest car in the world and everything, but it can get repaired to look like new most of the time. its not the end of the world for the driver.
