Need help ASAP!changedagame108 04-05-2002, 07:09 PM Today I brought my car into the shop to rotate my tires. When my friend (shop employee) attempted to remove one of my wheel locks, it came out cracked. It seemed to be previously cracked before today because there was already rust on the crack. Now, there is a small part of the wheel lock lodged inside the lug hole. I went to 4 different shops and they claimed that they wouldn't dare attempt to chisel or drill out the remaining bit of the lock in fear of damaging my rim. So I'm basically screwed now. I can't take off the wheel because a bit of cracked wheel lock is stuck there. If I get a flat, I'm screwed because I can't remove the wheel. What do I do?! piscorpio 04-05-2002, 07:18 PM That sucks dude! Im not sure how you can get it off, maybe a dremel with a heavy duty cutter? Maybe just get a torch to heat it up and then try to unscrew it? I would think a shop would do it, maybe they just don't want to be held liable for damages, you may have to tell them you'll wave liability or something. (of course then you risk screwing up your wheel with nothing to show for it.) Sorry I cant be more helpful. changedagame108 04-05-2002, 07:24 PM Originally posted by piscorpio That sucks dude! Anyone else? -=BOOMER=- 04-05-2002, 07:52 PM well, you might not want to do it but you can always take out all the other nuts so its loose and then break off that bolt. they are replaceable but you have to pull the rotor off to do it. *shrug* good luck man. Rice-Rocketeer 04-06-2002, 01:14 AM If it's only partially holding on, try taking the other rim and violently throw it at the rim. The shock might lodge it free or break the bolt. Either is good. That or you're gonna have to get a dremel or have the shop fuck up your rim. No other choice. sparq 04-06-2002, 01:18 AM Hammers always work  Nothing a screw driver, hammer or a duct tape cant fix... and if it cant be fixed with either of those, it aint broken :finger: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
