2 10" Subs and a big AMP... but where to put it.?MaxBURNOUT 04-20-2005, 03:58 PM Ok, heres the deal. I have 2 10" Subs in sepret boxes. and a amp that is 21" x 11" and I dont have anywhere to put them. I was going to mount them to the area in the back what covers the spare tire. but it is missing out of my car. I was going to cut one out of thin coraplast or fiber board but I dont know the dimentions.. Can anyone help me out with these 2 issues.. thanks J PS: sorry about the spelling im in a hurry Onimacus 04-20-2005, 03:59 PM you have a hatch or a CRX? MaxBURNOUT 04-20-2005, 04:00 PM Hatch. I guess It would help to specify MaxBURNOUT 04-20-2005, 04:01 PM I also have an issue with some speakers in the back. but there is no place to mount them.. Onimacus 04-20-2005, 04:20 PM oh... well i have a CRX with 2x12's in the very far back... no spare tire. And I put the amp behind the two seats in themiddle, it was a rather large amp like yours. I just bolted it onto where the seat would go if i had the CRX rear seats. It worked out fine. I dunno much about the size of the hatch interior though. MaxBURNOUT 04-20-2005, 04:25 PM Aight, Thanks I'll think of something. But if anyone else has a suggestion please let me know.. thanks. Scott82 04-20-2005, 04:43 PM Why don't you get a box for both subs to go in and just set it at the back of the hatch and put the amp either in the spare tire well, or on the back of the box. As far as cutting out a piece to go in the back to cover the spare well, make a cardboard template to fit in there and then trace it onto wood or what ever your going to use. i wouldn't use a fiber board though cause if it gets wet and stuff it'll start to fall apart. MaxBURNOUT 04-20-2005, 05:25 PM True.. I Need to get a band pass for the 2 speakers. .. What do you suggest box or band pass... Kven 04-21-2005, 06:31 AM im not too familiar with subs but i know the sealed boxes have good/clear sound compared to ported or bandpass, and that bandpass's are louder. dont quote me though, im not really sure. Mojoe 04-21-2005, 09:47 AM Build your own... fairly easy if you dont mind the stench of fiberglass: http://www.carstereo.com/help/ There are other links to basic glassing in the forums. Sparsky 04-21-2005, 12:36 PM Do Hatches have seats in the back? If it's like a CRX just make you a box. Take you about a weekend to finish it up with very little shop skills and hand saw. Might take you a day if you have some back ground and good power tools. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/765000-765999/765867_19.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/765000-765999/765867_20.jpg CBURKE 04-21-2005, 01:22 PM Me, i would put it in my room, I don't want that exstra wight Kunundrum 04-21-2005, 02:00 PM http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/268000-268999/268754_6_full.jpg that is my old setup... i have since upgraded to a complete MTX setup, but the layout has not changed much... I had the same thing in my civic only the am was mounted to the box and had quick disconnection for the power cable and Remote wire to get access to the spare tire. ... i'll see if I can find some pics... that was a while ago though... Kunundrum 04-21-2005, 02:04 PM haha found it http://www.geocities.com/02201/pictures/image05.jpg MaxBURNOUT 04-21-2005, 02:12 PM I like your new setup alot.. Do you have a diagram or some more pics of it that you can send me ... not trying to still your idea but I like it alot... Kunundrum 04-21-2005, 02:24 PM on what one... the CRX or the Civic ? those are 12" subs btw.. MaxBURNOUT 04-21-2005, 02:33 PM the HB Kunundrum 04-21-2005, 02:59 PM well the setup is pretty self explanatory... and go ahead if you want to use it. The speakerbox is a 6x9 Long Box that I was given, with rockford 6x9" in it. the Box is similar to a Pre made vented box, and with a 10" sub it would be smaller and would give you room to mount the amp on the box if you like. MaxBURNOUT 04-21-2005, 07:01 PM yeah.. My main thing is ... on the 2 small ones.. I had the idea to do that. but can your hear them over the subs... im just kind of worried about that vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
