1994 JGC anti theft problem / wont startmydland89 04-20-2005, 06:25 AM hello I just got a 1994 JGC and I was driving it, and it ran fine, then all of a sudden it started running rough....the security light came on and it shut down....then I waited about 5-10 mins. and then the thing started up again but ran rough....now I have it in my garage and it won;t even start....the alarm system is on because the lights are flashing and the relay is in chatter mode....I noticed after searching this site that it could be the hood switch, I have looked at it and the thing is corroded, also there is just a red wire stuck underneath it.....I am thinking that this may be the culprit and was wondering if anybody out there can verify that these would indeed be symptoms of this problem..or if it sounds like something else please let me know what you are thinking....thank you very much.,.... glass 04-20-2005, 12:36 PM agree its the hood switch ,as part of the problem , i just disconected mine on my 94 gcl.04, no further probs with it , but as sensitive as the car is to the alarm, seems like irritating glitches keep coming up , clean the contacts on the fuses , disconect the battery for a few min, lock/unlock ALL doors , keep the key fob with, good batteries, in the car , hope that helps , but the other door switches can be at fault as well, the dealer cleaned/lubed them for me when in maint , hope that helps vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
