exhaust issues

Hey I got a Ravin Z-55 muffler off ebay (it came in today, its legit, has all the stampings on it). I got it at a real good price, the only issue is it has a 3" inlet and 3" outlet hole. I belive the stock exhaust runs 2.5"(?) pipe. So what should I do? Get the muffler shop to make a 2.5" to 3" pice or wait and get a 3" inlet and outlet cat converter and just have the muffler shop run new 3in pipe through the whole system (from the headers and out)?

Right, thats what I figured. But the cost of a new, high flow cat is like $100. Plus all the new 3in pipe. Can ya see the problem here?

Stock is 2.25".

Just get an adapter to go to 3 inch and you will be fine.

No need to replace your piping.

Right, I don't have the tools to do any of this on my own. I'll go to a muffler shop (any suggestions in GA area?)and get it installed.
