"Daddy ... Where do ZC Engines Come from?"nemo_wolf 04-05-2002, 10:40 AM Okay, i was just wondering where ZC engines come from:confused: . They arnt stock and as far as ive read and can tell they arnt JDM. So what exactly are they? Are they rebuilds? Any kinda answer would be nice. And if this would be better suited in another portion of the forums, my humbelst apologies. Nemo the Black Wolf rosman4u 04-05-2002, 11:01 AM actually from what I was reading, not that my information is 100% correct they are jdm motors. 88ReX 04-05-2002, 11:14 AM If im not mistaken they are from Europe... crxlvr 04-05-2002, 12:06 PM A ZC engine comes from a european or japanese Si CRX 91zc 04-05-2002, 12:06 PM ZC came from the JDM Civic/CRX Si d16a8 and a9 are similar to the zc but came in some european civics and crxs:) bracer 04-05-2002, 12:53 PM Europe doesn't have ZC engine codes. A 1.6 DOHC in Europe is a D16A8, D16A9 or a D16Z5. So if the engine code is ZC than the engine is JDM. 88ReX 04-05-2002, 02:34 PM oohhhhhhhhhK ty for clearing it up :D 4GZChatch 04-05-2002, 06:32 PM Hey, for a really good bit on ZC motors, check out this website. They are really complete and even tell you how to tell the differences between the various 1.6L DOHC motors. It is: http://www.hybrid.honda-perf.org This site will also tell you how to do the rewire and what materials you need to get! Also, If you are doing the ZC swap, I have an Si ECU that I need to get rid of for cheap. Let me know if you want it! I can also get you the motor for about $650 or so, along with just about any other parts you might want or need. Setanta 04-05-2002, 06:55 PM ZCs were originally in the JDM 3G Civic/1G CRX Si as well as the 1G Integra. They were then in the 4G Civic Si and the 2G CRX Si. In Australia we had the ZC as the only engine powering our 2G CRXs (we never got the 1G) and the 1G Integra. At the end of the 2G CRX run, they were coded as a D16A. The 3G CRX (what the US calls the Del Sol) was only powered by a B16A here, but the EG 5G Civics had an option to buy the top of the line (for us) Si which was also powered by the D16A/ZC. There are different varients of the JDM ZC including the popular fuel injected version and the twin-carb. velocitySiR 04-05-2002, 08:21 PM jesus setanta are you sure you didn't nail that one.... somebody has been studying. Setanta 04-05-2002, 10:07 PM LOL - I was going to do the ZC swap into my GL 4G until I spotted the SiR for sale :) That and I always wanted an Si CRX - plus a friend owned an imported 3G Si Civic. ;) nemo_wolf 04-06-2002, 08:35 AM Well i wanted to thank you all for the info. I think im gonna get me a ZC as soon as i rack up the cash. Nemo the Black Wolf vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
